This lil guy is fierce! Bulbasaur animation I finished up on a Twitch stream over the weekend. I had a lot of fun!

Today is my 6th “Squidiversary” at Giant Squid! I feel so lucky to work on such an incredibly talented team that really values me as a human. Can’t wait to share what I’ve been up to!

Some fairly recent sketches of Izzy! Still struggling with simplifying shapes, but I feel like I’m making progress.

Well, it’s looking likely I might be dusting off this old thing and starting to post here again soon. I’ll probably keep it mostly just posts of art/animation/music I make, so maybe I’ll post some older stuff here. Happy to see some of you following me over here now, I appreciate it <3

Wow, has it really been two years since I posted anything here? Life’s thrown a lot of things at me over that time. This is an old doodle, but I am starting to do art again, so maybe I’ll post some here again too. To anyone still here, I hope you’re doing well 💖

Here’s something I finished up tonight. Diving back into pixel art and playing with fire! Really happy how this turned out!

Some of us artists at work have started staying after once a week to have casual draw sessions. Here’s a bear skull study I did tonight.

Alright, finally getting back to working on personal art! I bought some new Procreate brushes and wanted to experiment around. I’ve never really tried a “lineless” style before, happy with it for my first shot. Figured I’d draw Izzy since I need to draw him more often.

I know it’s been awhile since I’ve done any art. My Grandma passed away about a month ago, and I’ve found it hard to feel like being creative outside of work since. Slowly getting back into it. Gotta shake off all this rust.

5 hour direct flight from east to west coast with several rows all to yourself = a happy Izzy! On the plane doodle during my flight back to LA tonight.

Sorry for the lack of art lately. I’ve had a lot going on, and haven’t had the time or felt much like it. After the Nintendo news today, I just felt like doodling Isabelle, because she’s adorable and I love her.

Haven't felt great all weekend. Played the guitar some this evening and came up with this in about an hour. Figured I might as well record it. It was cathartic.

‪I finished this up today! For being my first pixel art animation, I’m pretty happy with it! Learned a lot just from experimenting around, next time I should try something a little simpler to learn various techniques. Limiting myself to Game Boy palette was a good restriction.‬

I love pixel art and animation, and I’ve been wanting to try it out for awhile. I heard about this app called Pixaki for iPad, and I’m loving it! Took me awhile to figure out how to work with this 4 color Game Boy palette, but planning on animating this some soon!
