Honey Hollow has officially shut down. I appreciate everyone who has played on the server the past two years, as well as our staff, and most importantly @berry-bunn, because without her Honey Hollow would have never existed. We started this server because we were tired of bad experiences with p2w servers that put money over accessibility and their community. I’m glad we were able to provide this server to players who needed it, even if it was only for two years ♡ 

One thing I would like to leave everyone with, regardless of whether or not you played on Honey Hollow, is that servers are not as expensive as server owners like to claim them to be. Honey Hollow cost $35 a month to run. I started paying for it in 6 months increments so it went down to $28 a month ($170 every six months). We had no website costs because we didn’t have ranks, so there was no point in having our own website when tumblr worked perfectly fine. No custom IP costs because we didn’t find it necessary (custom IPs only cost around $3-$5 btw). Ranks are and will always be a scam from server owners who like to claim running a server costs them hundreds a month. Players should not have to pay for white text so other players (especially players with eyesight problems!!) can actually read what they’re saying, or to set more than one home, or literally anything other than Minecraft itself. That’s all I have to say.
