One thing I’ve never seen anyone talk about is how similar Sam and Uriel are…like specifically in contrasting Cas and Uriel’s relationship to Sam and Dean. Rewatching season one right now and it’s so apparent - particularly in 1x11 when Dean just goes where John wants them to and Sam starts saying “we don’t have to do what he tells us to do, I don’t understand the blind faith you have in the man,” etc. Like it’s not a 1 to 1 but the way both Uriel and Sam mistrust their fathers and decide to do things their own way, Cas and Dean both keep believing their father will come back and talk to them and love them despite the fact that this will never happen; and even though both Sam and Uriel go down dark paths, they were both right the whole time about their fathers.
And both Sam and Uriel being involved with Lucifer one or another when Dean and Cas are sad to realise it
