“Oh good, it would be such a waste if not.” he said picking up the bowl of chicken salad he had beside him. “Open you mouth, please.” he said lightly, feeding her another spoonful. “Well, I can do that, shouldn’t be too hard.” he said, though a scowl appeared on his face at her words. “Very funny, Brie. But joke’s on you, I’ve always known that I am in love with her.” he said as he put the other bowl aside and picked up the choco chips, adding it into the batter as she instructed.

“I don’t tend to waste chocolate with you around.” She teased him before sighing and opening her mouth so he could feed her a bite of chicken salad. Gabrielle chewed the food slowly, but swallowed it after a moment. The recovery was happening, but it was still hard for her and she felt embarrassed about it with her brother most of the time. A smile crossed her face at his words. “Are you going to ask her out then? Because, I’m pretty sure she’s in love with you too.”

“They don’t even know house elves exist!” Pandora exclaimed, holding her hands out in front of her as an act of declaration of the fact that in the wizarding world would sound stupid. “My dad said he didn’t want one in the house, not because he doesn’t like them but more because if granny came round for tea and spotted it she’d probably have a heart attack.” She grinned, it was truly something the man had said to her mother not long ago when the woman had addressed the issue yet again. “Oh yeah, there is no magic that makes the airplanes fly, apart from engine magic I guess? I don’t know what you’d call it. They use the word thrust a lot when they talk about it. Hey Gabby, it’s nice to meet you. As for the Brie thing, honestly I don’t like the cheese Brie, so I’d probably associate you with that. Since you seem pretty cool I don’t want to do that, so Gabby works just fine.” The woman smiled. 

“Your parents don’t?” She asked curiously, she had assumed by the way the girl had spoken that her father was a wizard. “Oh,” Realization washed over her face as the girl explained further, of course muggles didn’t know about house elves, it seemed fair enough that the girl’s grandmother wouldn’t know what one was and it might freak her out. “Probably for the best, then to keep the cupboard that washes them.” She nodded in agreement. “Maybe we just define magic too strictly. Maybe magic is more than the ability to cast a spell.” She said softly, before nodding, “It’s nice to meet you too, Panda. And I agree, Brie cheese is disgusting.”

“Well that’s a relief I guess.” Alexis laughed, eyes brightening as the younger girl said she’d baked for her. “Fuck off, you did not. You spoil me Gabs. Are you going to come hang out for a bit?” 

Gabrielle frowned a bit at the older girl’s words. She was used to Alexis’s vocabulary, but never really stopped doubting the older girl’s intent when she directed it at the younger girl. “I did.” She said, taking out a delicately packaged box of sweets. “Of course.”

“Well then, I already hate her and I don’t even know what her name is.” Kat shrugged, throwing some of her blonde hair over her shoulder with a gentle flick. “Everyone likes them, doesn’t mean you should eat them.” 

Gabrielle frowned, “You shouldn’t hate her.” She said, shaking her head. “Unfortunately, some people are lucky when it comes to looking good without effort.”

“You don’t have to tell me twice. Thank you.” He chuckled, a happy glint in his green hues as he took another macaroon. “You haven’t made them before?” He held back from being dramatically devastated. “I haven’t tried making petit fours.”

“It’s fine, it’s okay.” he said, relieved that the girl wasn’t freaking out yet again. “My brother can be.. I know how he can be. I am sorry for whatever he did to make you feel scared of him.” He didn’t know that he was underestimating what his brother could do. But also, he was certain whatever it was, this girl didn’t deserve it. She just seemed so harmless. “I cannot wait to taste, can I do anything to help?” he asked, smiling at her even though he could sense her discomfort. 

Tommy and smiled, looking down to hide it away from her. The fact that the girl knew him far too well got to him because he didn’t have a relationship with ANYONE like this, other than his sister. Sitting beside her, he allowed her kitten to sit on his lap and then put his arm over her shoulder. “I miss you too, Gabby,” he said quietly and completely truthfully. “You’re one of the only people I’m close to so not spending much time with you anymore is pretty shit. I know that’s my fault but…”
