i think they have a crush on each other
this was a regular evening in nola at the loustat's household and that's why louis was bored AS FUCK all the time after experiencing this circus clown theatre kid drag queen rockstar extravaganza during his formative years as a vampire
This is my last brain cell for these past weeks
Just watched the finale. So compelling! The commitment of the cast is awesome, incredible performances from everyone involved. The tranference of the Lesmand theme to Loumand is a choice on the creators' part. I think to give Louis a greater role going forward....
Despite the negativity that has bombarded us since the apple leak, I found this episode to be compelling and I will be thinking about it for some time to come. Very theatrical and requiring critical thinking and interpretation on the part of the audience. The horror scenes are difficult to watch, but this is a gothic horror show and it is meant to make us uncomfortable. I found the episode less stressful than the last day on here reading the vitriol being voiced about it. There are no heroes or good guys in our gothic horror. They are all complex and irredeemable beings. I loved this season of TV and look forward to rewatching it and giving it lots of consideration. Sam is the absolute embodiment of Lestat and the work he has put into this portrayal is evident in his nuanced and powerhouse performance.
what gets you is not that louis and lestat love each other and still love each other though they hate each other because they cannot live without each other, we knew that. what gets you is that they are friends. it takes us two seasons of toxic gothic "i was under his spell" sort of romance to admit that, beside all that, they just like each other. they feel easy and at home in each other's company. they're giggling and cracking each other up. making easy conversation. they're bantering and bickering like an old married couple, because they ARE, and they DO know each other best of anyone. they DO trust each other above all else. they know which buttons to push to drive each other up the wall, and they know when they need to drop the argument and hold the other close. way beyond words, they know each other. their souls are scissoring. nobody talk to me
I think it's also just the nature of social media to amplify the negative, though we do get into weird algos. But yeah, all signs are that the gen audience has liked the season as much as the critics. Audience ratings don't matter that much, really, but they do give us some sense of where fans of a show are, and on imdb, season 3 has overall audience ratings that exactly match season 2 right now. It has the highest rated episode of the whole show (episode 6). That might change when the show goes to Netflix and even more gen audience watches, but it certainly indicates a lot of liking for the season, on top of the great critics' reviews as others said.
Woah, thank you for the insights! As you see, I am used to enjoy shows usually alone so I’m not very familiar with how ratings work or with their importance, other than they usually signify if the show will be continued or not. I usually assume a show to be niche for everyone to like it, or I’m so enthralled with it that I’m surprised to see people being unhappy with it, and TVL is definitely the latter case :D

I guess it remains to be seen how this specific episode is rated, but given that the show is one of the most critically acclaimed shows of the year and the audience ratings for the season/each episode are really high so far, and that AMC said it's their most successful season of the show on streaming, I think a lot of people have loved it, so you're not alone!
Hey, I hope so! There is a lot of comparison with books, with other tv shows, it is hard to be successful or interesting and entertaining in this day and age in the first place. IWTV captivated me from the first episode, and now TVL is an explosion of emotion, and to me it is a needed leap and an enhancement of the books without disrespecting them, without big painful sacrifices, in my humble opinion.
Thank you for the message!
you're far from the only one, the season got great reviews from both critics and audiences so far. We'll see how critics and the general audience react to the finale itself, it's so surreal that I could see it being polarizing, but for the season as a whole, it's been as praised and loved as the first two outside of certain bubbles.
Yes, it is surreal!
I guess I just got stuck in a tumblr bubble, as it shows me posts from people I’m not following, with similar opinions over and over, and since I’m not on other social media (and my group of interested study friends hasn’t watch it yet), so yeah, it does feel somewhat lonely when your opinion doesn’t match the bubble’s. I used to read some iwtv subreddits, maybe it’s different there? The bubble is also probably an algo that I somehow got into
Thank you for the message!
haha it looks like I’m the only one who liked the episode and the season?
I had the same feeling when I finished TVL the book: I wanted to immediately open QOTD, because there was this chaotic hung up thread in the end. The season is doing the same thing to me
It felt to me like Lestat’s essence. Not exactly like the book, not because this is magnificent Sam Reid, but ‘cause the vibe was right - for me. The weird, strange, monstrous guy with questionable and wavering morals, who manages to find silver linings, and be kind and love life and mortals, be contradicting and thus human, expressive and impulsive.
It’s different from the first two seasons, but imo it does the same thing those seasons did with the first book. Second book tells a lot and almost nothing, and it is so tightly tied with the next one, that it also makes sense that most of the ties will be probably explored in season 4.
I also wish I watched it in a better quality, as the version I found was sort of a screen recording with video artefacts
Uhhhhhhh
Wow
What da hellllll

here's my loustat finale bingo (hopecore edition) everyone come be delulu with me we don't have much time left.....
i want it all!
I heard a rumour that episode 7 will be 2 hour long. Now, I personally don’t believe it cause tv shows have their formats and constraints, and I can see how and where this rumour might come from, but also I don’t see anyone talking about it. It is such a desirable rumour, no?
I’m also very much behind on interviews and such, maybe I don’t know something? Has anyone heard anything?
I just looked at my cable listing and it says from 9-11 pm, so it's 2 hours long.
This is exciting!
