Currently working on a DRV3 AU (oc) where she works on the TV show's creative team, mainly working as Rantaro's "handler". In this concept, it would villainize his pregame persona, making it so that he was relatively vicious during 52. Potential manipulation of the mc, who doesn't actually watch the show or interact with it other than as a crew member.
Enter Tsumugi, who knows she's the mastermind of 53. She's on the creative script writing team, planning each character's personification. Due to Rantaro's success and great PR due to the mc, she decides to renew his character for the next season. And if he is so popular due to the mc, why not her, too?
So Tsumugi starts getting closer to the mc, trying to convince her to apply. She's totally against it.
But when the season airs, there she is. 17 students, two instant fan favourites. It's in their rewiring that Rantaro and the mc are naturally drawn to each other, but when he starts investigating the mastermind, she freaks out.
Tsumugi tries to talk to the mc, as if they're friends, causing the mc to be rightfully confused. However, it wouldn't be too weird for the Ultimate Cosplayer to befriend the Ultimate Makeup Artist.
But Tsumugi realises she screwed up, writing the mc and Rantaro as a pair. So, slowly, she starts feeding memories back to the mc. The scripting. The mastermind, the killing game and their involvement.
And the viewers love it. Some speculate early, some find the concept of her growing self-awareness disturbing.
But Tsumugi is lonely, but not now, not when she's got a confused makeup artist asking about their past, cutting her hair, feeling impostor syndrome.
By chapter six, Tsumugi reveals herself as Junko Enoshima the 53rd. And the mc, a makeup artist with now short hair and a fractured identity, is her Mukuro.
