i already said this on instagram but let's remember that while the gender binary is colonial in creation and enforcement, identifying as non binary is not necessarily anti colonial, not necessarily radical, and does not mean that you are critical of the way that race interacts with gender, or capitalism interacts with gender for example. non binary people are not a monolith and the identity cannot allude to any other political positions or mean that the person is unlearning their misogynior or toxic masculinity for example. white people love to cling to a first or only marginalized identity to lessen race/class guilt which (among other things) has informed the white monopolization (dare i say colonization) of non binaryness in general (interesting considering that white people created the binary as we know it). i think this is largely a result of the idea that having this identity is inherently anti colonial, which is simply inaccurate and falsely obsolves people from being accountable to unlearning things and taking direct actions. i love non binary people and i am very much not binary, and i also am tired of seeing it used as a vehicle for white supremacy (power), under the guise of monolithic inherent or essential radical-ness. everyone is accountable for examining how they how they enact and perform gender (and how it interacts with other social constructs) in an oppressive society and holding a certain identity does not absolve you from doing that introspection.

Sorry I've been so inactive I was at the circus

black lesbians honestly deserve so much more. they are constantly an afterthought in the lgbtq community despite having so much history in building it. it really hurts seeing other lgbtq members brush off black lesbians struggles to them “overreacting” or being “too emotional” over being constantly erased from their own community. listen to black lesbians. if a black lesbian tells you that you are making your lgbtq space unsafe or uncomfortable for them then you listen and make changes. it shouldn’t be controversial to say that black lesbians deserve to feel safe and accepted in the lgbtq community.

i think finding ancient human remains and studying them is fascinating but it also makes me sad like...please bury them...

once again talking about arbitrary time thresholds but at what point does a person stop being a person? how long do they have to be dead for it to be "okay" to keep them displayed? it really makes my heart ache because these are people who just kept getting passed around and taken from place to place for the sake knowledge and education (and not to mention the blatant destruction and consumption of mummies by wh*te people before) but it just feels so wrong to me. there are far too many bodies on display that should be buried and/or repatriated
