Music Video Monday – April 28
Right Back At It Again – A Day To Remember
This fast paced and fun song paired with a whimsical video make for an entertaining and hilarious experience. Personal favorite part: the band as pieces of poop.
Introducing...Music Video Mondays! Hopefully this will interest some of you because I had the idea earlier today and couldn’t stop thinking about it. I know I always love a good music video, so why not share some with Ground Floor every Monday? Stay tuned for more and feel free to leave some suggestions of other great videos in the ask box!
Meeting Andy Biersack and Jeff George....
I was lucky enough to run into the singer of Black Veil Brides and the guitarist for Harlot today and this is the full story of how that happened for those that are interested because I was very excited and really wanted to write it down :-)
So earlier today, I was at this big walk that was supposed to raise awareness about the genocides that have been happening in the Congo and in Darfur (hence, the shirt I'm wearing that everyone got at the event). Well, my two friends and I decided that after walking for about fifteen minutes we would just go to The Grove and get some lunch and then meet up with the walk as it was ending. So we walked into a restaurant and there were two guys at the bar. I saw the haircut and thought, "It can't be..." and as we walked closer I saw the Seagram 7 tattoo on his arm (sidenote: I was watching a video of Andy last night where he was talking about his tattoos and we listened to Rebel Love Song in the car on the way to the Grove so I was SHOCKED at this turn of events) and basically started hyperventilating and I couldn't really speak so my friends didn't understand what was going on at first. We got a table where I could still clearly see Andy and his friend and explained to them that he was an incredible singer for a really rad band that I had just gotten into and he was like TWENTY FEET AWAY. Both of my friends tried pressuring me to go over and talk to him but I was very adamant about not bothering him. But I guess in the process of trying to stay calm, I actually caught their attention and saw both Andy and his friend staring at me. Which only made me more stressed out. Eventually, I watched Andy start to stand and I knew it was now or never. So I went over and apologized for bothering him and said I loved his music and I just wanted to say hi. This incredible human being stood up, took off his sunglasses, and shook my hand. We had a really nice conversation and I even explained to him a little bit about the Walk to End Genocide because he asked about it. He introduced me to his friend Jeff George who I now know is the guitarist for Danny Worsnop's new band, Harlot. I hugged Andy (well, he hugged me, the sweetheart) and he shook my hand like 10 times which was just so polite. He's really such a genuinely kind person and it was so great of him to take a few minutes to talk to me and take a photo. It made my day and I haven't stopped smiling since. Andy Biersack, you are an A+ human being!!

Blue Film / Lo - Fang
Lo-Fang's debut full length record was released today and it is sheer brilliance.
One of the most amazing performances by Karen O that I have ever seen.
Flaws (Live Acoustic Version) / Bastille
Accents and acoustic guitars make me swoon.
A World Alone / Lorde
This song gave me chills when I first heard it, and I still love it more than anything.

Rare interview of Sylvia Plath and Ted Hughes from BBC in 1961; via brainpicker.
Open Season / The High Highs
Perfect for weird winter days where it actually feels like summer.
Creature Fear / Bon Iver
Saw Bon Iver outdoors in Santa Barbara bowl a few years back and it was honestly so amazing. I think I really fell in love with this song when it was on Chuck in one of the best scenes ever.

Hey There Delilah - Plain White T's
I saw this band live this past summer, and then hang out with them after waiting, and it was a middle school dream come true. I'm pretty sure I was crying during this song when they played it live as the very last song of their set.
