had a function last night and someone called me beautiful and as soon as those words left their mouth my heel (was wearing high heels) got stuck in the mud. guess what happened go on

I do look good w my hair heat styled and I was thinking about permanently straightening it, and then I remembered that I genuinely used to pray to have wavy/curly hair like my cousin bc she’s so beautiful. Like straightening it permanently would just be giving into Eurocentric beauty standards and ignoring the beauty of the women of my race, and what’s particularly unfortunate is that these women have been victims of this beauty standard of straight hair with no frizz when EVERY woman in my family has wavy/curly hair. Idk it’s just weird that I had more appreciation for these small things when I was younger than I do now

tbh one thing I am grateful for is growing up with a “they’re just jealous of you” mum. like yes she has her faults, but I think the bullying I faced in primary school would’ve been worse if she hadn’t installed that mentality in me. especially since when my bully and I got called in by the school the bully revealed that she was jealous of something I had that she didn’t- and not in an appearance way, even though she picked on that too

My mum is soooo annoying over the most irrelevant things. She’s only just allowed us to buy more fans in this heat, she closes the windows at night in this heat “for safety” but we have fucking bars on them anyway and live in bumfuck nowhere, she won’t let me wear her earrings bc “I won’t take care of them properly” but won’t let me buy fakes bc “they’ll give me skin issues”, she won’t let me buy from vinted bc she doesn’t like second hand clothes but buys DESIGNER BAGS second hand, she also would rather my brother buy a top for £50+ than me buy one from vinted. Like what the fuck?? I need to leave
