Just to go back to misfits (yeah, imma be in this for a while), I’m rewatching because I’m writing a couple of fics and nothing hits better than the first ep.
The characters have changed so much from season 1 to 3 (I won’t be watching 4 or 5). Alisha especially, so it’s honestly refreshing to see Alisha be such a bitch and her and Nathan get along so well while they’re having a laugh at Curtis (poor Curtis lol).
Honestly, I wish that guy from the start survived simply to see how he’d fit in the dynamic. Curtis eventually eases off and becomes just as much of a dick as the others but that guy (I think his name was Gary?) was so quick to anger I bet Nathan and Alisha would have a ball with him.
It’s also just a bit sweet to see Nathan and Kelly kicking it at the start. I love those two (make no mistake, I’m all for Simon x Nathan).

its a nuanced situation for sure. i love nathan and get his point of wanting to keep his mom safe, there's definitely a selfishness to it as well. he's an emotionally stunted little shit that just wants his mom to himself because he's childish and overall selfish. i think his mom had every right to kick him out, but she was also wrong for prioritizing her dating life over making sure her son was yknow, emotionally stable.
she's def partly to blame for how emotionally immature and entitled he is. but he's also an annoying asshole with abandonment issues
!! I do also think they both go through some character development by the end of s1 ep2- when she says he can move back in and realises she was wrong to kick him out, and he says it’s ok he’ll live out bc he realises that Ruth was right about his selfishness

I know Nathan with Marnie is great. He adores her, loves her with his soul, and would do anything for her but that doesn’t stop me from laughing at Nathan not being able to do the handy stuff around the house either because he just doesn’t know and was never taught (a total mama’s boy) or isn’t strong enough.
Meanwhile, when it comes to all the problems with Alisha and Simon’s relationship (e.g., the biggest one: Future Simon), Simon helping out is definitely not one of them. He’s always online so if he doesn’t know how to do it then best believe he’s watching a tutorial or searching instructions and being weak is out of the question when he’s actively been training.
