Behind Blue Eyes

“Hi, I’m Bradley Cooper, and this is my first ever video diary for Hideaway.”

Bradley gave a small wave to the camera before his gaze shifted to the cards in his hands.  “Do you prefer fake or real Christmas trees, why?” He read the question out loud and followed it with just a simple chuckle. This was an easy one, it was a question he was asked often by the people in his family. “I prefer fake ones. Real ones are nice and probably have one of the best smells in the world, but when you don’t have time to maintain it, the fake ones always seem like a more logical choice so I prefer to have a fake one every year.” He answered with his attention focused on the camera and a small smile pulling at his lips. 

Moving on to question number two. Okay, this was a lot easier than he thought it would be. The questions weren’t too difficult and they weren’t too personal so that was pretty awesome in his eyes. “What is the best and worst thing about the holiday season?” He read from the card. He took just a moment to answer before looking into the camera. “The best thing about the holiday season would be the fact that I get to spend a lot of time with my family. Family is very important to me so getting the chance to be around them is always a good thing. The worst this though, is the shopping. I hate shopping for gifts cause everyone tries to outdo everyone and it sorta feels like people have become more engrossed in the price value of a gift versus the sentimental value of it which is probably the worst this in my opinion. We should just be greatful for the things we do get, even if they didn’t cost thousands of dollars.” He spoke truthfully and followed his words with just a simple shrug of his shoulders. 

The next question was read out-loud like the rest of them. “What is one holiday tradition you do with your family and/or friends every year?” He laughed softly. He didn’t have to think about this question at all. Holiday traditions were always really important to Bradley. “Well Christmas movies is one that I do almost every year with my family. We get together about a week before Christmas and my mom makes her home made eggnog and brings out the popcorn maker. We all eat crazy amounts of popcorn, drink eggnog and watch movies every year. That’s something I’m looking forward to this year.” He said with a smile as the memory came across his mind again. It had been so long since he done that with his family, it would be great to be back in that circle this year. 

He pushed the image in his mind aside as he moved on to the next question. “If you were offered a million dollars to donate to the charity of your choice; which charity would receive it?” A warm smile pulled at his lips after he read the question. “Without a single doubt, it would go to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation. They’re a charity that was founded by Taya Kyle and they help military and first responder families. They’re a nonprofit but they could really achieve a lot with that kind of money.”  He spoke happily before moving on to the next question. 

“If you had to give one person at Hideaway honest advice; who would you give it to? What would it be?” He read. This one really had him thinking. He hadn’t been at the condos long, but he did make some good friendship, and reconnect with old ones. Pretty much everyone around here would probably benefit from honest advice but he could give advice to everyone he needed to pick one person and only one. “God, this is such a difficult question. I could give advice to a lot of people.. not that anyone would take it but still...” He paused for a moment as he began to think again. “It would probably be Rachel, I know she’s been going through some things. She won’t tell me what exactly but I know she’s stressed out.. I would tell her to just be who she is. Don’t worry about what others think of her and just live. Be happy. Do what makes her happy.” He said as he gave a small shrug. He didn’t know just how much good that advice would ever go and it’s not like he’d actually give it to her.
