August didn’t know who the woman was, so clearly she had him confused with someone else. Never the less, she was showing him alcohol so he couldn’t help his eyes from growing wide. “Damn, uh yeah. Those snacks are kinda on their way, still. Give me a minute.” His cooler only had liquor in it, so he took out his phone to order shit from go puff to have delivered.

“August.” The man said, offering his hand out for her to shake. “AJ is what most call me.” He added as he stroked his chin while taking a glance at all the assortment the app offered, carefully handing over his phone so she could have a look and chose what she wanted.

“How crazy are you thinking when it comes to dares, cause I haven’t cracked something open yet. Can’t say I blend in too easily.” He added with a laugh as he asked if it was still chill for him to take a seat next to her.

So maybe McKenna has already had a bit to drink and maybe she had confused this stranger for a friend, but whatever he seemed chill. And if he was willing to drink and play with her, and bring food, she was fine with it.

“Lovely to meet you, I’m McKenna.” She patted the blanket next to her, indicating he could sit. “You should know, I play hard, this is your only warning.”

She shoved a bottle of rum she’d found in her father's cupboard into AJ’s hand.

“So, take a drink and take your pick, Truth or dare.”

char had walked into the fair a bit later than expected. of course, bringing as many snacks as she could fit in her bag and went off to go find her friend. finally she spotted her friend in the mix of people at the fair. quickly, she walked over to the blanket the other had set up.

“ did i bring the bring the snacks ? of course, i did,  ” she scoffed jokingly showing her bag to the other. “ jeez ken. that’s a lot, ” she asked laughing but not judging. “ i love this movie but if it’ll make you happy. sure, we can play truth or dare.”

McKenna snagged a bag of Cheetos from the bag and popped it open and passed over an open half-empty bottle of vodka.

“Aw. You are a peach, and it will make me happy, let’s start playing.”

By no means did McKenna want to reveal any secrets, but she did want to find out a couple of her friends. She couldn’t help it. She loooved to gossip.

“You go first, truth or dare?”

The Peach Hollow’s warm breeze flowed through the air as the girl made her way down to town hall, she wanted to get there a little earlier than everyone else to get a good spot for her and Cassia to see the film but also take some photos of the area as people filed in. It had seemed that a lot of other people had a similar idea because she had seen a that the area was almost filled up. “Guess no one has heard of being fashionably late,” she muttered. She continued to walk through the area when she spotted a familiar face. “Mind if I take pic of you- I promise if it comes out bad I will certainly post it, absolutely everywhere,” she joked.

“Oh don’t you dare” McKenna shouted as she reached for the phone “Let me see, how do I look?”

She turned the phone to look at the photo. She glared at it for a moment and then turned the phone back to its owner.

“Ah, Faith you never take a bad photo, I need to keep you around more often. And for your information, I was fashionably late, apparently, you were just even later. The movies about to start.”

“Hey, I assume you brought snacks as promised? I brought something better.” She opened up her bag once again to reveal assorted bottles of alcohol. Her grinned turned wicked.

“I say we play a few rounds of truth of dare during the movie, Grease is pretty boring anyway, and I’m not taking no for an answer.”

Being involved in politics was a very important part of his life. That was the only explanation why he was standing in the town’s center for hours, yielding a sign supporting a hometown politician. Some people driving by would honk in compliance to his warm smile and wave, others would stop and talk. This allowed him to keep an eye out for any potential stories, jotting down any observations he saw among the citizen. Even if it wasn’t exactly news, Riley wanted to make sure he a good grasp on every person he met. “Before you say anything – yes, I am bored out of my mind.” The dark haired man assured the person who walked up to him, whom looked close to his age. “But if you want to keep me company for a little while longer, I pay well.” Riley deviously smirked at the other, leaning down to open his bag. He showed the other a bottle of vodka in secrecy, along with cups for drinking. “I have some mixers if that’s you thing.”

“Alcohol! You’ve convinced me.” McKenna dropped down and started rifling through the bag, making herself at home.

Riley was one of the few people McKenna had already met in town. They had a few chats and she liked him well enough. Really she probably would have stayed without the drinks to convince her.

“So what are we standing out here in support of anyway?”

“Quaint,” she repeated, as though testing the word in her mouth to see if it tasted like an insult. She knew Peach Hollow wasn’t for everyone, but it was where she’d lived her whole life, and it’d been good to her. Personally, she couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. “It’s an adjustment I’m sure, but you’ll come to find the charm in it.” There were good people, if only you knew where to look. 

“I know about college parties, sure, but they lack a certain… sophistication?” she said. “It’s mostly just drunken frat hicks and sorority girls. Not exactly the ‘charm’ I was mentioning…” 

McKenna could feel her excitement drop. She really was finding this town boring compared to LA. If it wasn’t for her father she would have left already.

“Well then, maybe you could help me find this charm. What do you do for fun around here? Remember, I saved your phone, you owe me one.”

‘ frankly, my fashion sense sucks, but i’m with you on that one. ’   there wasn’t weren’t many things she wanted to do, really. erika’s routine consisted of going to work from 9 to 5, having a drink afterwork and then going home to read a book or lay in bed completing puzzles on her phone. her hand lazily grabbed the tv remote from the coffee table, her body sunk on a different couch.    ‘ we could watch something ??  ’

without thinking about it too much, she logged on her netflix’s profile, mindlessly browsing for something.   ‘ or go out if you want ??  the golden pixies are playing at the clubhouse tonight, or we could go to golden if you don’t wanna be standing up all night. ’

“Oo, The golden pixies could be fun.” She jumped up off the couch.

“And it gets us out of the house. Between you and me, I’ve been feeling like a caged bird with my dad lately, he rarely lets me out. He’s been having me take singing lessons. Apparently being a Disney Star is the fastest way to get started in the acting business and ‘you can’t be a Disney Star if you can’t sing.’” She impersonated her dad for the last sentence, holding her finger over her lips in a fake mustache.

“What do you say?”

Angel was enjoying her day off, picking up a few things around town- running both errands for herself and her mum. She wanted to grab some food before heading back to the house, she must’ve been carrying too much stuff or not paying attention because when an unfamiliar face approached her with her phone she was surprised. “Oh wow! Thank you,” Angel said retrieving the phont from the girl shoving it  in her purse this time. Damn woman’s jeans and their lame ass excuse for pockets. She didn’t both checking for cracks like the other suggest, she had dropped the thing many times and was thankful for phone cases and screen protectors. “I’m Angel,” she introduced herself. “Thanks for not stealing my phone- would’ve been a huge hassle to replace. What brings you to town?”

McKenna smiled at the girl. “I know the feeling. I think my whole life is on my phone.”

McKenna has thought she had maybe seen this woman around town at some point, but they definitely hadn’t met.

“I can here to move in with my dad. He lives in Peach Place. Which I know, is super lame, I’m 25 but he’s supporting my acting career, so if he wants me to move in I’m happy too.”

She pushed a stay hair out of her face, a little embarrassed to have revealed everything to this stranger. “What about you, did you grow up here or are you new too?”

It was an exploring day, her and Lucy running around and taking stock of their new home. They’d hit up the farmer’s market for flowers, the pet store for a toy for Dameron, and they were headed on their way to lunch. Although, the thing about carting around a rambunctious two and a half year old is that she doesn’t always have the best grasp of her surroundings, far more concentrated on the curled haired tot talking her ear off about how they should get a goat. She stopped, hearing the person behind her call out. Of course, she had dropped her phone.

“Thank you so much!“ She let Lucy down from her hip, keeping a hold of her hand. She put the phone in her bag, in a zippered pocket because honestly she wouldn’t know what she’d do if it happened again. “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Liv and this is Lucy. We’re pretty new in town too.“

McKenna grinned at the little girl and bent to one knee. Kids were so cute, she always wished for a little sibling, but her mom had never been interested.

“Hi, aren’t you just adorable!”

She stood up and turned her attention back to Liv.

“Wow, I had trouble packing up all my shi-” McKenna stopped and considered the present audience, “stuff and moving and I don’t have a little one to take care of. You must be superwomen.” Maybe it was because her mom had raised her alone or maybe its because she never thought she'd be mature enough for kids herself, but either way, she’d always had this amazement for what mothers did.

50. How does your character feel about their own mortality?

She prefers not to consider it. “Here for a good time, not necessarily a long time” is her motto.

51. If they knew they would die tomorrow, what would they do today?

Drink, dance, get all dressed up and party. And call her mom.

52. What is your character’s absolute worst flaw?

She’s very vain, and thinks of herself before anyone else.

53. What is your character’s greatest strength?

She is confident, and passionate about what she does.

54. Does your character want power or authority of any kind?

She wants fame and she wants to be looked up to, but not necessarily power.

55. Is your character an introvert or an extrovert?

She’s very extroverted.

two cats roamed around the living room, while erika’s eyes fere fixated on the other female human  in the room. mckenna and her weren’t exactly close. one would say it was yet another of her not-really-friendships erika had :: just time spent together without really knowing anything about the other. still, it felt nice talking about trivial things such as clothing or the show business, or really, listening to mckenna gossip while she mostly listened as she wasn’t always on the loop. ‘ wait, wait —– so cargos are coming back ??  like non ironically ??  ’

Sipping her peach smoothie McKenna lounged on Erika’s couch. The two had met 4 months ago when McKenna first moved into town. They were.. friends, sort of. They hung out often, occasionally went to the movies, and went shopping together, but the friendship went no deeper than that.

McKenna liked having someone she could ramble on about nothing in particular too. Today’s topic was clothing.

“Yeah, that’s what everyone is saying, but you won’t catch me dead in cargo pants, I don’t care how in they are.” She laughed and set her smoothie down.

“I’m bored out of my mind, what do you want to do today?”

“Oh,” her brow furrowed, thinking it was slightly backward to be moving away from LA to pursue acting, but keeping it to herself. What did she know about acting anyway? “Well, welcome to Peach Hollow… I’m just a student. Nothing nearly so glamorous.” She wasn’t insecure about being a student - just about everything that came after… 

“How are you liking it here so far?” 

McKenna grinned at the student but privately thought of how unglamorous her acting career turned out to be.

“It’s.... well, it’s quaint here. I’m still trying t figure out what anyone does for fun in the tiny town.” Her grin turned to a smirk. “You're a student, you must know where all the parties are?”

his mind was elsewhere , between the case of this girl that he needed to save and his sister taking a surgery he knew she couldn’t handle . his mind was too full to even notice that his phone has slipped out his pocket . the voice calls out to him and he turns around. a warm smile taints his features ❛ thanks —- ❜ he whispers as he exams the phone ❛ guess that makes two of us, i’m kaleb ❜

McKenna grins up at the smiling man. “If I knew all it took to meet attractive strangers was walking and rescuing their phone, I’d be out in runners every day.”

She played with a strand of her hair. “How long have you been in town?”

“Yeah, I’m a supermodel,” the blonde replied dryly. The girl struck her as young and… eager maybe. But Scarlett didn’t mind being charitable. It was just questions. Scarlett was just usually used to asking them. At the mention of what she did, the blonde laughed. “God no, I hate politicians. I’m a lawyer. I work for the District Attorney here in town.” 

Ever determined and maybe slightly oblivious McKenna laughed out loud. “Oh, so all the politicians hate you right back. You're the one keeping them in line.”

She squinted her eyes. “Are you all that busy here? Is Peach Hollow one of those towns that look all quaint and quiet but the crime rates through the roof?” Her eyes widened at the implications of moving into a murder town.

Maxwell was such in a hurry to get back home that he didn’t even notice that his phone fell out of his pocket. Hearing someone call out to him, he turned around with a raised eyebrow. “Oh! Oh god, thank you,” Maxwell said, realizing that it was really his phone that she picked up. He took it carefully, sighing to himself. “Thanks, I don’t know what I would’ve done without it, really.” He chuckled softly. “Well–hi! Ah, that’s why I haven’t seen you around before. Uh, nice to meet you, McKenna. I’m Maxwell.”  

“It’s nice to meet you too, although, I’m sure there were better ways we could have met that wouldn’t have involved almost losing your phone.” She grinned and bit her lip.
