𝗟𝗢𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: Ariana’s favorite restaurant
𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗦: Closed starter for @arianazhao
Alexander arrived at the restaurant Ari and himself had previously agreed on, a plethora of pleasantries exchanged with hostesses and waiters alike as he was assigned a table, immediately offered the menu. In response and with a gentle smile, he ordered a glass of water and decided to wait for the rest of the party before ordering. Work had been stressful lately to say the very least, which had shortened his time with his family to an uncomfortable amount per his standards and, after talking to the eldest, Alexander decided to invite her to dinner to try and catch up after what felt like months.
From the moment Ariana and Roman came into his life, it all made a click for him. Although not his children by blood, he very quickly began seeing them as such with an almost terrifying easiness and as they grew, so did his adoration for them and fully accounted them as his own; to him, there were no difference between his three children.
After a couple minutes of the brunet going through his phone and shooting his wife a text making her aware of his whereabouts after dropping Maribel to her friend’s home for the night for yet another sleepover and asking how her own affair (a business dinner that couldn’t be postponed had been cited), a familiar set of features made it’s way to the table, his lips curling up into a grin. “Hey, kid” he greeted, standing from his seat to place a kiss on his step-daughter’s cheek. “Thank you for coming, mom is sad she couldn’t make it but promises a rain check” Alex mused as he seats again. “How are you? How’s the firm going?”

from the moment she met alexander she regarded him as family. the man had seen her grow from a shy young girl into a confident lawyer and he had been in her corner every step of the way. not only that but she could see the happiness that he brought her mother and her mom deserved to be happy. these facts made her feel even worse about hiding her conversations with her biological father.
she wanted to tell them but she was afraid of their reaction. she did not want them to think that they had not been enough or that she was trying to replace them. the fears were may have been a product of overthinking, but they were real. she walked into the restaurant and smiled to the hostess giving her the name alexander martin. ariana followed her back to the table and it did not take more than a moment to recognize the figure looking over the menu.
“ hey, ” ariana greeted her stepfather letting her smile grow. “ thanks for setting this up. it’s been too long; I’ve missed you. no worries, i’ll see her soon enough i’m sure, ” she said finding her own seat smiling. “ where is maribel tonight ? ” she asked figuring she had plans with her friends. she felt bad she hadn’t spent much time with her sister as of late. “ it’s good ! I’m good. I’m doing a lot of research for the senior partner at the moment; so, it feels good to get away from my computer. ” laughed ariana simply. “ how are you doing, besides busy with work ? ”
