in my mind I always imagine Cas rescuing Dean from the rack. but that’s not what happened! Dean was a decade deep on torture at that point. Cas would’ve had to get him to put down a weapon, to turn away from his victim. he would’ve had to rip Dean away from his active corruption. he would’ve had to contain Dean, to keep him from making himself worse.
