ooo good question! first of all: good luck, I can't wait to read what you've got when it comes out :D

as for your actual question: hmm. admittedly, I wasn't very anxious when I started writing fanfiction. I wrote half a fic for a school assignment (it was a romeo and juliet fic lol) and then finished it in my free time and then published it just because. and then my second fic was in a huge fandom and I had like 17 comments in my inbox by lunchtime and I was like "WOAH WHAT THE FUCK THAT CAN HAPPEN???" so by that point I had already been trained like a dog to expect treats and rewards for posting on ao3. So my advice for posting fic in general is to just put it out there and appreciate all the people who come by to appreciate you. and delete any stupid comments on sight

Posting RPF, though, is a different matter entirely. I very much WAS anxious about posting that -- I had been in the rpf trenches for a couple years by that point and very much knew of the drama that could follow. I made a whole new AO3 account entirely separated from my main (rather than using pseuds or posting on anon) and also this tumblr and I use disclaimers and account locks religiously. This is again where deleting stupid comments come in. But really, pretty much everyone seeking out RPF works are RPFers themselves, and I'd like to think we're all pretty encouraging to our fellow soldiers. If you are still anxious about feedback, you can account-lock your fic until you're more comfortable with it, or you can limit who can comment (there are options for filtering comments as they come in, making it so only account-havers can comment, and making it so no one can comment).

I am here a week later, still loving your fics, and it's not longer ironic. I also may have discovered a love for RPF. Also also your writing is fucking fantastic. Help.
