my dysphoria is not atypical, it just has to do with something other than gender or biological sex.

its not "atypical dysphoria" its race dysphoria.

Dysphoria is such a large category that has been used for multiple things over the years, weight, looks, height, etc. have all contributed and used with the term dysphoria.

Atypical is purely used to state “hey this isn’t commonly recognized” that’s it. It’s atypical being a decent chunk of the population doesn’t know about it, making it atypical. Terms like atypical dysphoria does not erase, replace or correct over terms. It was a language made to explain a large amount of terms in simpler words.

No one is forcing you to use the term, no one forces you or others to use the term. However a lot of folks like it being it gives them a community.

i believe the more people will talk about it openly the less "atypical" it will get

also im ngl idk what spaces ur in but the majority of spaces im in ill reference "dysphoria" with no added terms or affixes and theyll assume gender dysphoria even irl this happens ill say "dysphoria hitting hard today" and people will be like "oh i think you look very masc today though" okay 💔

im never said it replaced terms or anything i just prefer to be blunt about what im talking about

great it gives community for people but thats not my community and thats fine. never said anyone forced people to use terms. literally one of my main beliefs in life is that anyone can do anything they want as long as theyre happy and not hurting anyone including themself.

mostly bitter towards the term because when i was in those spaces i was treated fine for things like species or age dysphoria but when i brought up race dysphoria i was treated like i was some horrible monster who deserved to be outcasted and made fun of

and i highly doubt your intention was to exclude or make people with more taboo forms of atypical dysphoria feel unsafe or like they couldnt talk about it but that summarizes my entire experience in that community and is the reason i never attempted to explore that part of myself because the community told me even if not directly or explicitly that it was the bad evil radqueer type of atypical dysphoria (even though when i was in those communities i was anti radqueer)

But vents similar to this nature could come across as a “it’s bad” even if not intended. My rambles where made for a more larger audience due to some folks in the radqueer community can get angry at “replace-ids” (think: Dissomei, Desirdae, etc.), and there could be a possibly that some may account the umbrella of atypical dysphoria as such.

Langue grows, and dysphoria is used as a umbrella simlar to how atypical dysphoria, so people may default to just saying dysphorias when referring to dysphoria, witch does not undermined the very serious dysphorias others face,

I myself (as been on my pin) struggle with addiction dysphoria, it’s something I fight with day in and day out. And I don’t doubt the dysphorias you have listed you also struggle with.

Langue is complicated and how words evolve can cause hiccups in understandings. I’m sorry the communities around atypical dysphoria have made you and others feel invalid for the struggles you go though. While I myself am anti-radqueer (anti harassment as well) due to issues I see there I also can recognize you are all people, who struggle and succeed in life.

I’m open to talk about things around the topic on my coining blog @redacted-coiner or on here. I wish that those who struggle with any type of dysphoria not to be mocked or insulted for what they struggle with.
