Definitely my favourite gown of the night at the Oscars! 😍 Elie Saab's beautiful creation made for a queen reminds me of fashion icon Marie Antoinette and the 17th century court dresses. Do you think Janelle Monae wore a pannier (hooped skirt) under there?

I am loving this artsy video from Vanity Fair. It reminds me of those weird French films you watch in Art History/Film Class from years ago. I find the visuals so intriguing and mesmerizing. “Emma Watson Becomes the Rebel Belle on Vanity Fair Video”

Inspiration from the dreamy and fairytale-like haute couture of the Spring 2017 collection brought to us by Dior. Loving the elevated feather crowns which are complemented by the flowing and romantic gowns that seem to be floating on the enchanted forest floor that is the Musee Rodin in Paris. 

Finally getting used to the mural I painted on my porch a few months ago! This abstract floral piece was inspired by a few of my favourite artists Alphonse Mucha and his Art Nouveau posters, and Monet’s lovely and delicate Impressionist paintings. Inspired by these art masters and combining their styles with my love of intricate Henna designs and my personal flair - ta dah! This piece took a while to complete as neighbours passed by on the street casually, allowing me to see my neighbourhood in a different way and liking it more and more every day. I definitely do not miss the upside down painting where people saw me in awkward positions, that’s for sure. This was a creative project that gave me a much needed break from the life of a graphic designer and the computer. I am hoping to do some more murals in the near future and improve my painting skills that I haven’t used since high school!

So sad that Downton Abbey has come to an end :( And so I did a quick google search and was surprised to come across such gorgeous pictures of the cast dressed in haute couture!

I recently discovered the beautiful work of French artist Julien Malland aka Seth Globepainter. He is well known around the world for his large scale art pieces in urban areas. These imaginative and colourful murals are of people, mostly children, that seem to have been sucked into this strange, surreal world.
