just one hit

since these tunes are my spring anthems, i thought i’d share it with you all ! :)

the first one is not really from an english/british band but it does contain Alex Turner from Arctic Monkeys (famous for being a wee bit arrogant lol), and I also find it very very good ;

the second one is quite different from Vertigo, it just makes me smile and dance around like a lunatic. reminds me of the Modern Life is Rubbish era as well….

anyway, here are two “opposite” songs that i thought you may like, enjoy xx !! Z.

M.I.A. COMING BACK WITH POWER POWEEER

I’m not necessarily a big rap fan but that woman is amazingly gifted. What she makes is very unique, since she gets most of her inspiration from her Sri Lankan roots. Unlike most rappers, her lyrics aren’t all about guys, sex or money. She’s actually involved in the political world especially in the UK.

I know most of you aren’t big electro fans, but so am I and I am literally amazed by her. I advise you to give it a try, with those songs    x  x  x

The two first are really famous, but you might not know the person behind it. Watch her videos carefully, take a look at her story : you are in for a real treat.

Je ne suis pas forcément une grande fan de rap, mais cette femme est incroyablement dotée. Ce qu’elle fait est très unique, puisqu'elle s’inspire principalement de ses origines sri lankaises. Contrairement à la plupart des rappeurs, ses paroles ne portent pas que sur les garçons, le sexe ou l’argent. Elle est en vérité impliquée dans la vie politique, surtout au Royaume-Uni.

Je sais que vous n’êtes pas de grands fans d’électro, mais moi non plus et je suis littéralement enchantée par elle. Je vous conseille d’essayer, avec ces chansons  x  x  x

evolution from 1999 to 2012

Heeeeeeeeeeeey everyone ! Aujourd’hui je vais rester dans ma “zone de confort” puisque je vais vous parler de ma série préférée, Sherlock !

Comme l’indique son nom, cette série s’appuie très fortement du personnage de Sherlock Holmes crée par Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, mais elle reste quand même très moderne puisque tout se passe à notre époque. Plein d’amis m’avaient parlé de cette série en disant à quel point elle était géniale mais j’aime pas vraiment tout ce qui touche aux détectives parce que ça m’ennuyait énormément. Mais un jour je m’ennuyais et j’ai regardé le premier épisode A Study In Pink (en VO bien sûr!) et j’étais…. ÉMÉRVEILLÉE ! Je ne m’attendais absolument pas à rire autant puisque c’est censé être une série dramatique ; de plus, tout est extrêmement précis de façon à ce que le spectateur comprenne tout rapidement, les lieux de tournage sont magnifiques (ouais j’aime BEAUCOUP Londres), les intrigues sont topissimes, AMOUR SANS FIN pour les acteurs principaux Benedict Cumberbatch = Sherlock Holmes, Martin Freeman = John Watson (surtout Martin chou♥) et aussi pour Andrew Scott = James Moriarty (qui va jouer dans le prochain James Bond ♥)

Vous le savez bien, nous vivons dans un monde imparfait donc il y a forcément des BÉMOLS concernant cette série que j’appelle bien (trop?) souvent “perfection”. Alors la série a commencé en 2010 et ne comporte que…*roulement de tambours*… NEUF ÉPISODES ! En effet, il y a tous les deux ans une saison comportant 3 épisodes d’environ 90 minutes ; je vous raconte pas l’attente ! Ensuite certains Sherlockers (parce que ouais on a un nom de gang) aiment moins la dernière saison parce que (MINI SPOILER) John a une fiancée et elle prend de plus en plus d’ampleur dans chaque épisode et a une vie cachée…on se concentre un peu moins sur les aventures de John et Sherlock. Ça ne me dérange pas plus que ça, au contraire, les histoires sont moins redondantes et on a de quoi s’émerveiller. Pour terminer, il y a un seul épisode que je n’ai pas vraiment aimé : The Hounds of Baskerville, tout simplement parce que l’histoire ne m’a pas plue.

En conclusion, je vous conseille très fortement cette série parce qu’elle est super fraîche, les acteurs sont excellents et on est très facilement emporté par l’intrigue.

Heeeeeeeeeeeey everyone ! Today, I’m gonna stay in my “comfort zone” since i’m going to tell you about my favourite TV show ever, Sherlock !

As its name indicates it, this show is based on the adventures of the character Sherlock Holmes invented by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but it (the show) stays very modern because everything takes place in our time. Many friends of mine had mentionned this show telling me how awesome it is but I’m not really interested in detective-type stuff because it bored me a lot. But in one very lazy day, I watched the first episode called A Study in Pink (in English of course!) and i got… WONDERSTRUCK ! I really wasn’t expecting to laugh this much since it’s supposed to be a drama ; besides, everything is extremely precise so that the spectator understand everything quickly, the places of shooting are wonderful (yeah I LOVE London), the intrigues are excellent, ENDLESS LOVE for the main cast including Oscar nominee Benedict Cumberbatch alias Sherlock Holmes, Emmy winner Martin Freeman portraying John H. Watson (especially my homie Martin♥) and also Andrew Scott = James Moriarty (who’s gonna portray a villain in the next Bond movie Spectre♥)

Unfortunately, we live in an imperfect world so there are necessarily FLATS about this show, that I call way (too?) often “perfection”. So the show started in 2010 and there are only…*drum roll*… NINE EPISODES ! Indeed, there’s a season every two years including 3 episodes of approx. 90 min : i cannot tell you about the expectation ! Then some Sherlockers (yeah I’m totally part of a gang) have reservations on season 3 because (LITTLE SPOILER) John has a fiancé and she takes more and more scale in each episode and has quite a dark past…we’re less focused on John and Sherlock’s adventures. I don’t mind it because, on the contrary, the stories are less redundant and we have enough to be amazed. To finish with, there’s only one episode that I haven’t really liked : The Hounds of Baskerville, all simply because I didn’t like the story.

To (actually) finish with, I strongly recommend you this TV show because it is certified fresh, the actors are endowed with great talent and we’re easily taken by the intrigue.
