Hereâs to productivity!
30 Day Studyblr Challenge
Hello everyone! So in my time here I havenât really come across a studyblr challenge other than the great â100 days of productivityâ meme which I know is really helping a lot of people! I know there are probably some out there but I decided to contribute too!
However, I know some people struggle with what to post and when, and 100 days is a huge commitment! So I designed this short(er) â30 Day Studyblr Challengeâ that anybody can participate in if they want to! The 30 days donât have to be consecutive because I understand that people are busy and canât always find time in the day to come on tumblr! So I invite you to take part in this little activity, and please feel free to tag me in your challenge uploads - If I see that Iâve been tagged Iâll check the post out.
Here are your challenge questions: Day 1: A photo of your supplies Day 2: A photo of your study space Day 3: Your favourite motivational quote Day 4: A photo of your most recent work Day 5: A photo of your favourite book Day 6: A photo showing how you relax Day 7: The best advice anyoneâs ever given you Day 8: A photo of your to-do list Day 9: A photo of your desk in use Day 10: Who is your favourite teacher/professor and why? Day 11: A photoset detailing your routine for the day Day 12: A photo of your favourite study snack Day 13: A photo of your textbooks Day 14: Send your favourite studyblr(s) an uplifting message! Day 15: A photo of your handwriting Day 16: What music do you like to listen to whilst studying? If you donât listen to music while you work, what do you do? Day 17: Find a new/different study spot to your usual one and snap a photo! Day 18: A photo of your favourite pen(s) to use Day 19: A photo of your study space featuring a glass of water. (Itâs super important to stay hydrated while you study!) Day 20: Talk about your favourite fictional character Day 21: A photo of your diary/planner/journal Day 22: A photo of your dream school/university Day 23: A photo of your favourite character from TV (Because itâs important to relax sometimes too) Day 24: Write the sentence âI can do anything as long as I put my mind to it.â in all of the languages that you speak and take a photo. Tell yourself that every day! Day 25: A photo of the work/notes youâre most proud of Day 26: Try out mind-mapping and photograph the end result Day 27: Try out a printable and take a photo of it in use Day 28: Try going for a walk before you start studying today. Hey guys! 2016 is only a few hours away so I thought it would be a good idea to just spill all my stationery knowledge in hopes that it helps you guys out. The main four components will be different types of pens, different types of planner systems, different journals, and different places online where you can buy variations of everything. I also included a bit of my own opinion on these products, and writing this at 3am probably brought out some sassiness. I just hope this helps you somehow! (: -Mona PS: Iâm making this on the HTML text editor (and my keyboard is giving out on me) so spelling might be off, and this post is going to be very long.
Fineliners, Rollerballs, Ballpoint, Gel Pens & The Differences
Fineliners are some good sh*t. Pigments are usualy spot on all the time and usually comes in various colors. The felt tip makes it hard to write fast since it isnât angular. This makes fineliners extremely hard to use for quick notetaking in class. Iâd recommend you using these for pretty notes after class. As for brands, Sharpie is one of the easier brands to find that has fineliners, and are the first fineliners I fell in love with. The more visible fineliner brands on the Study-sphere are the Staedtler Triplus Fineliners and the Stabilo point 88. Staedtlers are a bit more expensive than Stabilo but you can easily them up from Target, but Iâve seen Stabilos around Joanns and Michaels. Pat also found some Stabilo dupes at Michaelsâs for around $5 if you want to test out fineliners but youâre on a budget.
Rollerballs are the love child of the Ballpoint and the Fountain pen. You donât have to put as much pressure into the pen as Ballpoints or Fineliners and gives you nice pigments. These glide extremely well on paper. This is the ideal note taking pen but if you have fairly unreadable handwriting, like mine, itâs best to use ballpoints. The ink does take a bit more time to dry compared to fineliners and ballpoints, expect smearing. The only brand Iâve used is the Pilot Precise V5.
Ballpoints are the ones you can lend to a stranger if they ask for a pen. These pens work with pushing pressure on the tip and the ink is usually tacky/pastey. These will not be as pigmented as Fineliners or Rollerballs but are probably ideal for notetaking in class. Ballpoint pens come fairly cheap so I havenât forked over much cash to test out the higher priced ones. My personal favorite brand is Paper Mate because theyâre really affordable and totally my aesthetic.
Gels are the strangest ones for me because their precision is determined mostly on the brand you are buying. Gel pens used (obviously) gel ink, rather than conventional ink, and they can be really nice like the MUJI Gel Ink Pens or just complete trash. These are usually targeted for kids since itâs extremely easy to add scents to the ink and they have bright colors, but many of those do not even work when using them for the first time. (literally my childhood)
Fountains are mostly used for calligraphy. The smear level in this is insane. These tend to be the most expensive and
Finding Your Planner Peace!
Bullet Journal are extremely easy to start up. I tried using this system last spring and I can say that the entire system isnât my thing. Of course, changing things about the bullet journal is simple. If youâd like more detail, stdylettrs created an amazing masterposted dedicated to it! You can also watch studyignâs video too.
Ring Binders are defintely more about aesthetics overall. The binder system, or personal organisers like Kikki K or Filofax are extremely pricey. Some cheaper dupes for these organizers are Webster Pages Color Crush Planners and the Dokibook by Love Doki. These binder systems are aesthetic af but you would definitely be investing. The organiser doesnât included with the planner, and even then, many of the planners they include are plain. The purpose of these ring binders are more for designing rather than a simple jotting down of ideas like the bullet journal can be.
Spiral Bound or disc-bound planners are up in price range of ring binders. Brands like Inkwell and Erin Condrenâs LifePlanner are reallllyy expensive. A really good alternative is the Happy Planner by me & my Big Ideas. These type of planners have really nice designs on their pages and gives you a set up for jotting down plans as well as gives you space to design.
Alternatives Hobonichi â Pre-made with extremely similar index system as the bullet journal. The paper quality is nice af: Tomoe River Paper. For better explaination, hereâs the link to one of their YT videos! Midori Travellerâs Notebook â Can def be combined with a bullet journal. More information about this on this video! You can find several etsy shops that sell cheaper versions.
Journals! Journals! Journals!
Moleskine â That really fancy brand. Iâve purchased the Dotted Chapters Journal with the original intent of using it as a bullet journal. In the end, I just ended up using it for doodling. Rhodia â Iâd heard very great reviews on this brand. I know this brand is great for practicing calligraphy so I might be testing these out in the near fututre. Field Notes â I know very little about this brand but Iâve seen it everywhere. They come in graph, dotted, and blank/plain paper - and even a mix of all three. Leuchtturm1917 â basically a cheaper dupe of Moleskine.
Cool Sites to Buy Stuff
MochiThings YesStyle Morning Glory MUJI â USA Online Store is Closed ): Barnes & Noble Daiso Japan â Items are sold in bulk!!
Hopefully this guide helps you! If you have any questions, or further information youâd like to add or correct, donât hesitate to send us an ask so we can change info immediately!
I created a GCSE standard (age 14-16 for non-UK) factorising helpsheet! If youâre having trouble factorising quadratics I hope this will help in some way. Originally made for the use of @floraltoxin but it was too good not to share with you guys.
This is solely my work (@the-wandering-cellist) so please donât repost without my permission.
Pro-Tip
I know most people associate LUSH Cosmetics with white girls and bath bombs but products from this beautiful company have faded my scars and stretch marks, completely gotten rid of my acne, fixed my dry skin problems, thickened my eyelashes, laid my edges, made my hair grow like crazy⌠I can go on and on. Iâve actually never tried the bath bombs, but their skincare and haircare products work magic.
Fading Scars / Stretch Marks Organic Therapy Massage Bar
Extra Dry Skin King of Skin In-Shower Body Conditioner, Skin Drink Facial Moisturizer, Sultana of Soap Bar, Tender is the Night Massage Bar, Eachâs a Peach Massage Bar
Acne Fresh Farmacy Solid Cleanser, Eau Roma Toning Water, Full of Grace Serum Bar
Thickening Lashes Eyes Right Mascara / Lash Milk
Edges R&B Hair Moisturizer (if you put this on your edges before wrapping your hair, theyâll be relaxer-straight when you wake up, lasts about 12 hours), Dirty Styling Cream (cream-based edge control with a matte finish, no more shiny or crunchy edges)Â
Hair Growth NEW! Shampoo Bar, Retread Hair Conditioner
I was asked to list the rest of the products I currently have in my possession, so here yâall go!
FACE / HAIR STUFF
Magical Moringa Facial Moisturizer Oh my lordy. Let me tell y'all about this stuff. Itâs marketed as a moisturizer but I use it as a primer because when you put this on your face, itâs completely matte. Like completely. All day. And it will lock your makeup in place like no other. You can sweat in it, swim in it, whatever. Shit wonât budge. Ever.
Jason & the Argan Oil Shampoo Bar Amazing for volumizing. It made the three bundles in my head look more like five when I used this thing the first time, I kid you not. Also gives your hair a really natural shine. I only use it when I really need a volume boost, otherwise itâs just too much.
No Drought Dry Shampoo If you have a weave, you need this stuff. Period. A lot of times, the natural oils in our scalps (referring to my fellow black women here) are too heavy for Brazilian, Peruvian, etc hair, and so itâs easy for weave to get weighed down between washes. Shake this stuff in your hair, brush it out - bam, flow city.
Honey Trap Lip Balm My favorite lip balm, ever. Really improves the texture of your lips and seals in moisture. However, this is not for fixing chapped lips - use Ultrabalm for that first, and then this to prevent them from chapping again. Also, pro-tip, if you apply it before liquid lipstick, your lipstick wonât crease or dry out all day.
MASSAGE BARS
Strawberry Feels Forever Smells like fresh strawberries! Has a much thinner consistency than the other massage bars, so it can be used every day, like a solid lotion.
Soft Coeur Smells like chocolate and honey, and is ridiculously moisturizing. More heavy-duty than the other bars, so I like to only use this one on spots like my knees, heels, and elbows.
From Dusk til Dawn The shape of this one is amazing. Itâs shaped like a cone, so it gives a deep massage when youâre using it. Definitely recommend if you have any sort of muscle pain.
SCRUBS
The Rough with the Smooth This stuff smells soooo good. Like cotton candy. I use it before I shave because it really does an amazing job at removing any dead skin and it doesnât leave a residue, so it wonât clog your razor. However, itâs a sugar scrub, so it melts super quickly.
Ocean Salt This is a heavy-duty scrub. Really amazing if you have dry, flaky skin, and the healing properties of the salt are really great if you have acne. Itâll dry it up and heal it super quick.
Cup oâ Coffee Face & Body Mask Iâm on my fourth jar of this already. The coffee beans are ground up just enough to give a deep, yet gentle scrub and the caffeine in the bar really does wake up your skin and make it look brighter. Great for the morning.
Buffy It smells like a vacation, thatâs really the only way to describe it. Itâs an exfoliant bar and body butter mixed together, so you rub it all over while youâre still in the shower, and then rinse the sand off. After, rub the oils in and pat dry. No need for lotion after because it seals in the moisture from your shower.
SHOWER GELS / JELLIES
Rose Jam Shower Gel Smells like roses and has a really bubbly lather. More cleansing than moisturizing. I like to use it before a more moisturizing soap because itâs great for removing dirt and oil from the skin.
The Olive Branch Shower Gel A long-time favorite of mine. Great for dry skin, as it has a really creamy lather versus a bubbly one. Also, the smell is very calming and lingers for a long time.
Needles & Pines Shower Jelly Itâs a solid shower gel (consistency of jello), and it smells like Christmas trees! I like to store it in the fridge and use it when itâs hot outside, super cleansing and refreshing.
SOAPS:
Roses All the Way Personal favorite! Smells like roses & vanilla ice cream. Super moisturizing and so, so creamy. Definitely buy if you suffer from dry skin.
Yog Nog Very moisturizing and the scent lingers for a really long time. Smells like snickerdoodles and eggnog.
Bohemian Not at all creamy, as itâs an exfoliating soap. Itâs great to use on dark spots like knees and armpits because the exfoliants soften the skin and the lemon juice evens out your skintone. Smells like lemons.
Karma Another favorite. It has a super thin consistency but is still very moisturizing, so itâs a good shaving soap because it wonât gunk up your razor. Smells like incense and patchouli.
Figs & Leaves Smells like dirt and grass, in a good way. Super cleansing. As in your skin will literally squeak after using it, so I recommend using an in-shower moisturizer like King of Skin after using it.
OTHER:
Atomic Toothy Tabs Solid toothpaste that you crush up in your mouth. It sounds weird but these things are phenomenal. They really leave your teeth squeaky clean, and are the sole reason my teeth are so white - I donât use any whitening products. This particular kind smells like cloves and cinnamon.
Ultrabalm All Purpose Balm This stuff is amazing. Itâs an all-over balm for rough spots. I use it in the winter time on my hands and lips, because they get dry. I also use it year round on my face where I get dry spots, as it doesnât clog pores.
Silky Underwear Dusting Powder Another holy grail. If you could turn cocoa butter into a powder, this would be it. Itâs not drying like baby powder, itâs more silky (itâs also talc-free). I use it between my legs to prevent chafing and under my boobs when itâs hot outside to prevent sweating.
@blackskinpinkheart here you go, a shopping list
Mendelâs Laws
1. the Law of Dominance 2. the Law of Segregation 3. the Law of Independent Assortment
The Law of DominanceÂ
In a cross of parents that are pure for contrasting traits, only one form of the trait will appear in the next generation. Offspring that are hybrid for a trait will have only the dominant trait in the phenotype.
Mendel crossed many different combinations of pea plants
When pure tall plants crossed with pure short plants, all the new pea plants (referred to as the F1 generation) were tall. Â
Similarly, crossing pure yellow seeded pea plants and pure green seeded pea plants produced an F1 generation of all yellow seeded pea plants.Â
Instead of creating medium height plants or yellowy-green seeds that might have been expected, one trait came out as dominant
Ie there is a gene that codes for height. One allele (form of the gene) codes tall and another short. In this case, the tall is dominant
The dominant is represented with a capital letter (eg T for tall) while the recessive is lower case (t)
The cross Mendel performed was
Parents (P): Â TT x tt
where T = the dominant allele for tall stems & Â t = recessive allele for short stems
The punnet square looks like:
A plant that contains the dominant T will be tall, explaining why 100% of the plants he crossed came out tall.
The Law of Segregation
During the formation of gametes (eggs or sperm), the two alleles responsible for a trait separate from each other. Â Alleles for a trait are then ârecombinedâ at fertilization, producing the genotype for the traits of the offspring.
Now, Mendel decides to cross the offspring from the above experiment - all Tt
Two of the âF1â generation (tall) are crossed
 Would assume to get all tall again as tall is dominant
HOWEVER some come out short
âF2âł generation is about ž tall & Âź short
Therefore:
Parent plants for this cross each have one tall factor that dominates the short factor & causes them to grow tall.
To get short plants from these parents, the tall & short factors must separate (allowing the possibility of 2 short factors coming together without a dominant tall) otherwise a plant with just short factors couldnât be produced
The factors must SEGREGATE themselves somewhere between the production of sex cells & fertilization
Two hybrid parents, Tt x Tt.
The punnet square would look like this:
This splitting happens during meiosis.
The Law of Independent Assortment
Alleles for different traits are distributed to sex cells (& offspring) independently of one another.
Previously Mendel addressed one trait at a time. Â
He noticed that different traits had no effect on each other, eg being tall didnât automatically mean the plants had to have green pods
The different traits seem to be inherited INDEPENDENTLY.
The genotypes of our parent pea plants will be:
RrGg x RrGg where âRâ = dominant allele for round seeds ârâ = recessive allele for wrinkled seeds âGâ = dominant allele for green pods âgâ = recessive allele for yellow pods
The results from a dihybrid cross are always the same:
9/16 boxes (offspring) show dominant phenotype for both traits (round & green),Â
3/16 show dominant phenotype for first trait & recessive for second (round & yellow)Â
3/16 show recessive phenotype for first trait & dominant form for second (wrinkled & green)
1/16 show recessive form of both traits (wrinkled & yellow).
Summary:
Please use on a small area of skin before using all over to prevent breakouts etc

Hey guys, so Iâve been meaning to make this post for a while now. For those of you who struggle with dyslexia or know someone who does, this masterpost is for you!
⸠⸠⸠⸠⸠â¸Â ⸠â¸Â  How to make your laptop read text to you (mac)  ⸠⸠⸠⸠⸠â¸
âš Go to system preferences
âš Go to Dictation & Speech
âš Next set up the speed at which the voice will speak
âš You can change who speaks, as well as the language they will speak in. (mostly concerning pronunciation and accents of the voice, naturally if you have it set on english and make it speak a german text, it will just be a german sounding voice speaking english and it wonât make much sense)
âš The final step is to decide what key combination you want to use.
âš All you need to do now is select text, press your chosen key combination and turn up the volume :)

May Masterpost Challenge: 9/20
End Goal: To make 20 masterposts by the end of the month
(I am behind lmao)
Hello! This is the second installment of my mini graphic design series. [ First installment here ] Today we gonna taco bout Icons! Icons are my secret tool of trade. They make a post look nice and they are just generally very very good in terms of pulling masterposts together.Â
(important note) this is really a lot of rambling from someone with informal training so please take everything with a grain of salt
What is an  icon?
In wikipedia it said an icon is â a pictogram displayed on a computer screen in order to help the user navigate a computer system or mobile device. â I think of it as just a pictogram that happens to be a design element lmao no need to think of it complicated.
Tips on using icons
There are (at least in my view) 2 type of icons ( this sounds so unprofessional lmao but yâknow I have no formal training in this I only do what I do)
Minimalistic kinds (They are the ones with the lines and they look v.v. chic) (pretty sure this is not the official name)
The normal kinds. (They are the one with colors and I like to put them on graphics)
When you use an icon, check to make sure it is transparent. If itâs not, it might clash with the background. ( but well you can make it purposely compliment too) Sometimes I used nontransparent, sometimes I use transparent it depends on your needs.
About attribution.. They are when the icon maker require  you to link back to your blog post when you use them. (Sometimes all the times I forgot to do that oops Iâm a failure I should set up a credits page.)
About commercial/ personal usage: Commercial is when you use them to make cash and personal is when you use them personally. Frankly I consider mine personal use cuz all my printables are free?!?
UI = user interface. Itâs basically a fancy word for icons. Youâll see that a lot.
How to Use Icons:
First click download
Open the file folder
Drag it to the desktop
Open it in your preferred program (mine is PS)
Edit !!
*** attention see what format itâs in*** the formats I used the most are psd (photoshop files) and png (files for everybody) if you donât have photoshop or adobe illustrator, donât click the psd and ai files.
Websites I use to find Free Icons
My faves are:
Behance- The icons here are super nice. It takes quite a bit of searching though because the website is not exclusively icons. *Attribution might be required* *some might not be free so look carefully*
Best PSD freebies - Itâs well.. the best psd freebies. I love the variety there and *most* of it is super cute.
Flaticon- Â The website I use the most. It has an easy-to-navigate website but attribution is a *must* (I really need to set up a credit page Iâm such a hypocrite. Oh whale I will do that in June)
Here is a list of 49 other websites

THE SIGNS AS THE 9 MUSES.
The Muses /ËmjuËzáľťz/ in Greek mythology are the goddesses of the inspiration of literature, science, and the arts. They were considered the source of the knowledge embodied in the poetry, song-lyrics, and myths that were related orally for centuries in these ancient cultures. They were later adopted by the Romans as a part of their pantheon. All of the Muses were considered to be the best practitioners of their fields, and any mortal challenging them in their sphere was destined to be defeated.
Calliope: of Epic Poetry. One account says Calliope, the best of them all, was the lover of the war god Ares. She is said to have defeated the daughters of Pierus, king of Thessaly, in a singing match, and then, to punish their presumption, turned them into magpies. She was the most assertive and most wise of the muses. {Capricorn}
Clio: of History. Clio, sometimes referred to as âthe Proclaimerâ, is often represented with an open scroll of parchment scroll or a set of tablets. In her capacity as âthe proclaimer, glorifier and celebrator of history, great deeds and accomplishments, she is also the muse of lyre playing. {Aries, Aquarius}
Euterpe: of Music, Song, and Lyric Poetry. Called the âGiver of delightâ, when later poets assigned roles to each of the Muses, she was the muse of music. In late Classical times she was named muse of lyric poetry and depicted holding a flute. The name means "rejoicing wellâ or âdelightâ. {Cancer, Pisces}
Erato: of Love Poetry. The name would mean âdesiredâ or âlovelyâ. In the Orphic hymn to the Muses, it is Erato who charms the sight. Since the Renaissance she is often shown with a wreath of myrtle and roses, holding a lyre, or a small kithara, a musical instrument often associated with Apollo. Other representations may show her holding a golden arrow, reminding one of the âerosâ, the feeling that she inspires in everybody, and at times she is accompanied by the god Eros, holding a torch. {Scorpio, Sagittarius}
Melpomene: of Tragedy. Initially the Muse of Singing, she then became the Muse of Tragedy, for which she is best known now. Her name was derived from the Greek verb melpĂ´ or melpomai meaning âto celebrate with dance and song.â She is often represented with a tragic mask and wearing the cothurnus, boots traditionally worn by tragic actors. Often, she also holds a knife or club in one hand and the tragic mask in the other. {Taurus}
Polyhymnia: of Hymns. The Muse of sacred poetry, sacred hymn, dance, and eloquence as well as agriculture and pantomime. She is depicted as very serious, pensive and meditative, and often holding a finger to her mouth, dressed in a long cloak and veil and resting her elbow on a pillar. Polyhymnia is also sometimes credited as being the Muse of geometry and meditation. {Virgo}
Terpsichore: of Dance. Her name meaning âdelight in dancingâ, was one of the nine Muses and goddess of dance and chorus. She lends her name to the word âterpsichoreanâ which means âof or relating to danceâ. She is usually depicted sitting down, holding a lyre, accompanying the ballerinasâ choirs with her music. Her name comes from the Greek words ĎÎĎĎĎ (âdelightâ) and ĎoĎĎĎ (âdanceâ). She is also a mother of the sirens and Parthenope. {Leo}
Thalia: of Comedy. In this context her name means âflourishingâ, because the praises in her songs flourish through time. She was portrayed as a young woman with a joyous air, crowned with ivy, wearing boots and holding a comic mask in her hand. Many of her statues also hold a bugle and a trumpet (both used to support the actorsâ voices in ancient comedy), or occasionally a shepherdâs staff or a wreath of ivy. {Gemini}
Urania: of Astronomy. She is often associated with Universal Love and the Holy Spirit. Eldest of the divine sisters, Urania inherited Zeusâ majesty and power and the beauty and grace of her mother Mnemosyne. Those who are most concerned with philosophy and the heavens are dearest to her. Those who have been instructed by her she raises aloft to heaven, for it is a fact that imagination and the power of thought lift menâs souls to heavenly heights. {Libra}Â

Each trig function in terms of the other five: color coded. Idk Iâm just playinâ around in LaTeX and thought this table on Wikipedia would be worth color coding on its own so I made this little ditty. The reciprocal functions are the lighter colors of their regular trig counterparts. I wouldnât call this a final version, but, hey, itâs pretty cute. High five for pattern recognition.
This âMagicâ Trig Hexagon may prove a big help when you need to memorize your basic trigonometric identities! By collegasavviness.
