Got a little burnt out the past 2 days. I worked on some art for the first time in a while.

On September 1st, 2024 I got an apple cinnamon donut, the first of the season. It was very dry.

I don’t really get online posting a lot of the time. My online presence was always centered around other people. My photos and writing were all centered around whether people would like them or not. And as a result, I never ended up documenting much for myself. Because really, stuff like this doesn’t matter to other people. But I find that it’s very easy to get lost in the bad things if I never acknowledge the small good things.

I’ve also been told that it’s impossible to post online ‘just for yourself.’ I don’t know if I agree with that or not, but ultimately I see nothing harmful in posting content like this. As long as I’m not hinging on getting approval for it.

I know it’s the inverse for a lot of people, but I think actually stopping to document things makes me more mindful of the moment itself? Like drinking tea was always something that I did without thinking much about it, often multitasking while doing so. That, and it’s also made things like drink making and tea drinking into activities of their own, ones that ultimately don’t hinge on whether or not other people like them. Not to say that I haven’t made some absolutely cursed creations in the meantime.
