Yui being powerful because of her kindness has nothing to do with how it helps the guys. Any benefit they get from it is purely incidental. Because at the end of the day, it doesn’t really change them. It doesn’t “fix” them in any significant way. There is no ending where they see the error of their ways and come to regret causing Yui pain. They are and will always be pieces of shit who have zero interest in genuinely trying to improve themselves.

So why is Yui being kind so powerful? It’s because she’s fighting to hold on to that kindness when everything is trying to get her to abandon it. Yui chooses kindness in order to stay true to herself, and to hold on to what she believes in. It’s her way of saying “no matter what you do to me, this is the one thing that you can never take away.”

Basically, Yui herself is the #1 “fuck you” to the dl boys’ entire mindset of “bad thing happened to me so I get to be mean”. She’s not kind for them, she’s kind for herself. She’s kind in order to rebel against their attempts to “break” her.

There is a difference between a game that you are the main character and a game that you control the main character. In Diabolik Lovers’s case , you aren’t the main character ^^ if you feel angry and think then why the hell can we change her name or make choices , you should read this completely ~

I deal with so much mental illness, chronic pain and racism everyday and to know my form of escape, even if it’s something like fanfic about 2-D characters - is met with emptiness. That hurts.

Most of my mutuals, my friends, have left because of this and so I depend on a reader base to know I’m not alone.
