Iseabail is to Ysabeau

In designing a mandala for this eco bag, I wanted design elements that were reflective of my relationship with my sisters (as was done in my Lamp Project).

The innermost flower: myself as the first-born, the leader

The blue flower: representing my growing relationship with my youngest sister

The large green petals: our middle sister, who serves as a bridge of sorts between myself and our youngest. size showcases that our middle sister is equally close to me, as she is with our youngest

I was inspired by the quilled paper concept that I applied previously to my Mask Art. I wanted to further expound on it, and explore other possible shapes to put together and apply.

Taking from the fanciful details in Venetian masks, I developed a design inspired by the sun and moon.

Instead of “painting’ in my design, I decided to lay out quilled paper. I find that the medium gives life and character to the mask; it’s also reminiscent of the 3D detailing on Venetian masks.
