The crash and explosion that landed outside of Tyler’s ranch house wasn’t anything that he could have expected. The house shook enough that the glass windows shattered and the strawberry field was demolished, but overall the damage was kept to a…minimum.
Now, going to explore the crash site was a separate ordeal. A white pod sat in the crater it had created, seemingly more damaged than his house. Not only did it catch fire, the door on it was literally hanging on by a singular hinge. Other smaller parts laid scattered across his field, splattered with the remnants of his family’s strawberries.
He stood there, hands on his hips, unsure of what to even do or think. Who the hell did he even call for something like this? Surely, some scientists had seen this blip skyrocketing into their atmosphere, right? Proper help was on the way, right?
Tyler was astounded, to say the least. He rubbed his jaw, shook his head, and decided that no, while he was intrigued, he was not the one to deal with this. Not for another few hours, at least.
He turned on his heel and jolted back at the sight before him.
A green little woman with antennae, who had hair longer than she was, was staring right at him with intense interest. He did scream then, which startled her. She screamed, too. Loud, almost piercing his ears. She hid herself behind her arms, tried to make herself look smaller.
“Okay, okay! I’m sorry— I- I didn’t mean to startle!” Tyler held out his hands in what he hoped was a placating manner, pressing one ear into his shoulder as he hoped to block the noise.
She stopped, thankfully. Yet, it seemed that her curiosity increased tenfold. The green creature peeked from the space between her fingers, looking up at him. She didn’t move, but her antennae pulsed with a white light. He had never seen such a thing in his life. Tornadoes were his niche, and of course, living in Tornado Alley, you’d get to see and do some pretty odd shit— if you were him, maybe— but this was a new bar being set.
