        Peter watched as the other man messed with the blueprints. The question made him uncomfortable. It was obvious. But why? “She is coming, isn’t she?” He began to worry, and then Tony hit him with worrisome news. His brows pulled together. “What do you mean? Like they didn’t make it? They had to make it. You made sure they made it, right?“

Tony swallowed. “I don’t know, kid,” he said, his voice tighter than it had been a moment before. “I hope they did. I didn’t really have time to prepare, we weren’t together at the time, I haven’t really--” He cleared his throat, trying to cut off the hysterical rush of words. “Seen her. But it’s Pep. She made it, I’m sure she did.”

“Kind of figured that.” JJ responded playfully, amused by Tony’s behavior and attitude. Someone so smart was so scarily charismatic, it was pretty cool. JJ wished he had that levels of charmisa but if he was any good on his feet he wouldn’t need to be behind the computer in the way that he was.  “Yeah, I’ve heard of you. you’re a bit hard not to know of.” Far too famous, probably the most famous of them all. Or at least tied with Superman and Captain America. Batman stuck too hard into the shadows, he felt more like folklore then fame. That was probably how Grandpa Bruce liked it too. “Thanks.” A compliment from the Tony Stark? Pretty damn cool. It really was. “Tony, got.” Permission to call him Tony too, very very cool. “Nice to meet you Tony.” Really, he should be more professional but he couldn’t help but fanboy just a bit.

Tony grinned at the younger man’s playful tone, shrugging his shoulders. “I am,” he agreed comfortably, a smile coming to his lips. He’d always been a little cocky, especially when he was younger -- for the most part, now it was just a joke. Time and experience had definitely humbled him. But the attitude was something people expected, and hey, he was a genius, after all. And a billionaire. And a philanthropist. Not so much a playboy anymore, though. He laughed drily. “Nice to meet you, too, mysterious stranger. I’m guessing you’re watching me from somewhere pretty far. At least not on this block, right?”

“I can actually take care of myself, I’ve just been previously warned not to create a scene in this bar so I’m trying it the way other people do it with a decoy.” she explained. “But I’m certainly too old for a sugar daddy.” she let out a laugh. “I’m Dinah Lance, your fake girlfriend for the night.” she introduced.

Tony held up his hands as she spoke. “Absolutely,” he said. “I have no doubt about that. I’m just trying to toe that line between chivalry isn’t dead and I’m awake, or whatever the hell the kids are saying.” He snorted. “That’s good, I’m too old to be one,” he said. He grinned at her. “Tony Stark, it’s my honor.”

Bucky had slowly worked his way down the list of people he’d wronged purposefully skipping over the biggest name on the list. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to face Stark it was just the last time that had happened it almost ended in a complete nuclear war. So he stayed away longer then possible but now he had to face the past even if he knew it wasn’t him who did those deeds he still felt the guilt. He hadn’t expected the other to be welcoming given their shattered history but he knew sometimes making the hard choices was just part of healing. “Hey Stark, or whatever your AI is named….I kinda was wondering if you were free to chat?” He yelled at the door when the other’s voice rang out.

Tony glanced up as a soft beep in his ear alerted him to someone in the hallway, FRIDAY keeping an eye on things as usual. Before he could call up a security screen, he heard Bucky’s voice ring out, and he froze a little. “It’s FRIDAY,” he called through the door. Hello, Mr. Barnes, FRIDAY spoke up smoothly. You may enter now. The door slid open as she spoke, and Tony glanced up, swallowing. “Hey,” he said, striving to remain casual. “I can chat, yeah.”

Gamora’s eyes narrowed at him as he once again twinged the wrong circuit within her translator leave it to Rocket to take off right when she could’ve used his expertise on this. She moved to grab his hand as he made a false move that particular hurt giving a hard squeeze as he instructed to do if pain arose, before letting sitting still.

Tony scowled as she squeezed his hand hard. He really had told her to squeeze if it hurt, but he hadn’t expected her to make the little bones in his wrist grind together. Which, really, he supposed he should have. “Okay, sorry,” he said. He fiddled with it again, looking over at her. “How’s that?”

Harry looked at the other with a bit of confusion at his reference truly being reminded of the difference in age between them “I’m tempted to just take your word for it, especially given I’m not sure they ever  had the technology back then.” He teased the other before laughing “True, you had to age like fine wine. He scoffed “You are an asshole, I’m kinda digging it  though, I’ll have you know I was an early bloomer unlike most in our friend circle.” He replied back before nodding his head.

Tony huffed as the young man spoke. “The show started in the 1980s, they had color TV and cars, they even had cordless telephones,” he said dryly. “We didn’t have cell phones yet, but you missed out on the start of that trend. Those things were like goddamn bricks, you could basically defend yourself with them against everything but nuclear attack.” He grinned at him. “I am, thank you,” he snorted. “Yeah, and you’re rich. Dad’s credit card usually helps sway a bartender.”

          steve looked at the footage another time before sliding the tablet over to tony “i think you might need to get queens on decaf. he’s vibrating on the ceiling of the training room… again.” he let out a small sigh “that’s the third time this week tony.”

“What the hell are you talk--?” Tony got his hands on the tablet and studied the footage for a second, before padding out of the room to look in real time. He walked back into his work room, looking over at Steve. “I know you probably think this is my fault, but he’s a Gen Z’er or something like that. They guzzle coffee. I think they also ate Tide Pods, but that’s besides the point. Anyway -- this is not my fault, and we need to get him off the ceiling. Not in that order.”

“I think you must have some mystic mojo in your ears, champ. I absolutely did not say I missed you.” He looked up from the web shooters he was updating for Peter, his brow furrowed in consternation. “I’m not gonna admit that I missed you until you admit you’re awesome facial hair bros with me. And for some reason, you refuse to do that. Which is your loss. There could be t-shirts. Mugs. The works. But no.”

She snorted. “There’s also a running count on Twitter covering the best angles on Nightwing’s ass, Twitter running counts aren’t so special.” She assured him with a noticeable positivity. “Don’t look too deeply into what some whackjobs are saying just cause they can say it.” Her grin only widened at his positive affirmation she could address him by his given name. “Awesome, love that for me- Peter always goes calling you Mr. Stark and I didn’t know if it was a you thing or a Peter thing cause it could honestly be either.” MJ chuckled. “Yeah yeah Peter’s too respectful to call anyone older then him by at least a decade anything other then Mr.” She listened to his words finding wisdom in them that MJ hadn’t expected to find. “I like that.” She really did. “Like that view a lot Tony.”

Tony shrugged his shoulders. “I promise you, I have learned to look deeply at a very small number of things in my life,” he said dryly. “Most shit does not bear the brunt of real introspection. Although Nightwing does have a nice ass, Twitter is not wrong about that.” He laughed. “Definitely a Peter thing,” he assured her. “I am definitely not a Mr. type of guy. You call adults Mr., I am pretty much the oldest twelve-year-old alive.” He grinned and shrugged. “People are always gonna find a way to belittle you for something. Probably stuff they’re jealous about.”

Harry looked at the other chuckling “I’d say it has something to do with how innocent he is reflected on his face, either way he is the best friend I’ve had.” He replied fondly before laughing at the other “You had a baby face? I find that so hard to believe given that rocking goatee you are wearing” He mused before laughing “It’s good to see I’m not the only jackass in Pete’s life, either way I think I’m going to enjoy getting to know you Stark.”

Tony grinned briefly as the younger man spoke. “Yeah, he has some Woody Boyd vibe, for sure -- and I realize that reference is way, way before your time, s you can either trust me or look it up.” He snorted softly. “I wasn’t born with this fantastic facial hair, you know,” he said. “Being rich gets you out of a lot, but fortunately puberty isn’t one of those things. As you’re familiar with, considering you’re also rich and got out of puberty a mere five years ago.” He gave a dry laugh. “Yeah, back at you, kid.”

JJ couldn’t help but chuckle, he was talking to Tony Stark. He really was as charismatic as everyone had said and all his appearances had implied. His mother was his inspiration and superhero but Tony Stark well, JJ couldn’t help but be a fan of all his conquests in technological engineering, science and just everything. “You don’t know the half of it…” Before he hit puberty, try before he was even born. He wondered if any of the Avengers were aware of the future kids situation like the Justice League was, JJ didn’t mention it. “As tempting it is to inflate my ego with Jesus,” He responded, a note of amusement in his tone. “You could call me Foreseer.”

Tony raised his eyebrows as the younger man spoke, a soft snort falling from his lips. “Ah, intrigue, huh?” he said. “I don’t know if you know this about me, but I am actually really terrible at keeping secrets. It’s just too much effort. Also, I forget.” He was being facetious, of course -- not all the Avengers, or superheroes in general, were as public as he was, after all -- but secrets about himself were kind of pointless. He’d been a public figure pretty much his entire life. He grinned. “Foreseer, huh? Very Miss Cleo, interesting.” Another grin touched his lips. “You can just call me Tony. That cat has been out of the bag for a while now.” 

“Give me a second, Jesus Christ on a cracker--” Tony hunched his shoulder as Gamora tried reaching for him again, the delicate tools in his hands. He was fixing her language implant. “Unless you wanna be stuck speaking Pig Latin for the rest of your life, you gotta take a seat for about a second until I’m done working on this. This may come as a shock, but I’ll get it done faster without you grabbing at me.”

          clint let out a whine, hands reaching out to try and take the pot back “that’s my pot though, i always drink straight from the pot. this is a hate crime, you hate me.” he huffed “i’m hiding all my good coffee from you now. you can suffer.”

“Yes, which is gross and frankly concerning, but thank god I a not your doctor, so I don’t have to hassle you about that,” he said. Tony snorted as Clint spoke. “Right, because I of all people would certainly struggle to find good coffee. If only I was wealthy.”

She gave him a dubious look at his snort, how he blew off the mention of him being a hero. MJ understood the avoidance to toot your horn when it came to things you didn’t want glory for but still, he had saved their whole world. He wasn’t looking for credit or heroism, it was kind of what made him such a hero in itself. “You know you saved the actual entire world more then once, right? Whether you want it or not, you are a hero.” She said boldly, only remembering who she was talking to a moment later. “Uh… Mr. Stark.” If Peter was here he’d have his head in his hands bemoaning her overstepping (something she tended to do a lot, if you asked her friends, MJ personally thinks she oversteps the perfectly normal amount of times- AKA, whenever it was called for). “I’ve been told I say too much actually.” MJ smiled sheepishly with a matching sheepish chuckle. “Also been told that it may uh… escalate things more then often.”

A light smile touched his lips as the young woman spoke, shrugging his shoulders. “I guess,” he said. “I’m still not totally used to the positive press. There used to be a running count on Twitter covering how many times I’d shown up naked in public that week.” He couldn’t help but grin again as MJ corrected herself. “You can call me Tony, you know. Peter is usually the only one who calls me Mr. Stark. Which makes me feel absolutely decrepit but I know better than to ask him to stop.” He snorted and shrugged. “Yeah, well, people tell me the same thing, and I personally, sincerely do not give a damn when they do.”
