It’s Aki’s name day and my birthday today!

He’s 63 and I’m 30 today. I love him so much and knew I had to go to @elpisdarling’s Etoile Studio for his shoot.

When I look at Aki, I think about how he was my first step back in the waters of RP after rediscovering that interest as an adult two years ago. Not only was he my first OC in over a decade, he was my first in FF14 as well.

Through him, I have rediscovered myself, my hobbies and interests, and found some of the best friends.

I have experienced more joy in this past year (and a little sorrow, but I’m not counting that) than I ever thought imaginable. Who knew that all I needed was a few RP OCs and ships to obsess over with my best friend and that it would bring me such insurmountable happiness.

Hello thank you for the ask!! This is the one thing I've been afraid of people asking because truly most of my colouring is just me slapping colours at a canvas until it looks good but here's at least some of my recent thoughts:

Something I forgot to write down here is that I try to vaguely keep in mind the 60-30-10 colouring rule when it comes to balancing the amount of each colour in an illustration but I don't keep it as a hard rule

I do also sometimes have a lot of trouble tying colours I want together with values that look good because admittedly I lack a lot of ability to plan my values ahead of time. Cue me getting stuck on drawings trying to fix oversights like this
