This is a great question actually ! I'll take a bit to talk about my favourite since I can.

Out of all the birds I grew up watching, I would have to pick the Cotorra serrana oriental, or as it's called in english from what i've read, Maroon-fronted parrot ! Scientific name Rhynchopsitta terrisi.

It is endemic to the region I was raised in, northeastern Mexico and is only found in three states: Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas, in a zone of approximately 1,900 square kilometers. My state is Coahuila, and I grew up watching wild and urban colonies alike because I was raised a Scout. Always entertaining to do birdwatching in a biologically diverse territory. It is rather flashy and, unlike the other birds from the area like falcons and eagles, occasionally likes being near people ! The biggest settlement of these birds in an urban space (in my city) is at the Alameda Zaragoza, the city's most prominent park. Since there's many green areas and trees in it, particularly very leafy and tall ones. Usually near the playground or the center of the park.

They are very fun to observe specifically, the urban ones tend to move all together and the wild ones too, except their groups are smaller than the urban one. They've been here for as long as I remember, and remain in good health since downtown has been reworked to be a more friendly space to people on foot than cars, so there's less contamination.

Unfortunately, these beautiful birds are endangered. Even if they're "prominent" where I live, I have been told that there has been a noticeable decline in the past decades, especially by elders I know. It is truly shameful how even with wildlife conservationists and local organizations, the population keeps falling and falling. Sometimes I go stare at them at the park and wonder about the day I won't see a single one. A lot of my life's work has been advocating for nature in my environment, due to the organization I belong to and to me being autistic ! A lot of effort has went to all of the habitats and animals endemic to my home, and I truly enjoy volunteering.
