Challenge (kinda)
I think it'd be pretty cool/funny to see how many people could learn the song 'rattlin bog' off by heart, including that last verse/line. I know a teacher that can do the whole song and it was funny to see how proud he was when he did it in front of us. Just something that popped into my head that amused me, somebody was playing that song today.
Song Recommendation
So instead of recommending a single song I'm gonna recommend that anyone who hasn't to check out lurgan and the covers on that. They're kind of a summer camp thing, (as far as I know anyway) I'm not sure how else to explain it but they focus on doing covers through Irish. The main song I'd recommend is their cover of 'Wake Me Up' by Avicii. I remember a bunch of people having a slight obsession with it when it first came out and they said it was better than the original. If anyone wants more of these then let me know. SlĂĄn đ

So I haven't been that active recently, I took a little hiatus, Iâve been pretty busy with school and organizing events. I love this blog idea! I grew up in Belfast and went to "integrated" (read: protestant) schools and never had the opportunity to learn any Irish at all. I'm now living in Japan but moving back home this year. I was wondering if you know of any good schools/night classes in either Belfast or Dublin (thinking of moving down there later this year) to teach beginners Irish for adults? Or maybe some of your followers might know? Thank you so much!

Hey, I was actually recently in Belfast for a school trip for a few days and we learned a lot about how Irish is still a struggle up there (someone shouted shoot them at me for speaking Irish). Irish classes are actually very common in Leinster to be honest, I know my local primary has Irish lessons for adults in it. If youâre all right with travelling for a bit a cool thing to do would be going to the Gaeltacht for a few weeks or something, itâs a great experience.Â

Â If you do end up moving to Dublin then there are a few totally Irish bookshops about and an Irish radio station and lots of stuff like that, there would probably be a few brochures in those places. So this blog is something Iâm starting in TY to help promote the Irish language because I want to and I have the time. Iâve been in a âscoil lĂĄn Gaeilgeâ for over 10 years and Iâm fluent in the language. There will be English translations next to any posts in Irish to help beginners so no worries about that. I guess this is a little experiment or something.
