1/2 Let's start with Dr. May. In 1968, Maria Assumpta Teacher Training College' student Jo drags her roommate Christine Mullen to a Smile concert (she has a drummer boyfriend there). That's first meet of Brian and Chrissie. After about a year of careful friendship, they become a couple. Bri said about that hungry and happy time: "Yes, and it was probably the happiest time of my life. I was living with my future wife in a bedsit about the size of this table. We lived on cod in a bag, we had one gas ring, we had no problems in life."(2010) In that time QUEEN already become popular, but with no money for themselves, so Bri and his future wife huddle in the basement with 3 colors cat. Not only poverty, touring and love illuminated those days, living "in a civil marriage" was strongly disapproved by Bri's dad (for what reason May could not marry immediately, I do not know). "When Queen was taking off, we didn't speak (with Brian's father) for nearly two years. He also hated the fact that I was living with a woman, who turned out to be my first wife, Chrissie. He thought it was immoral. I couldn't understand it." The second dissaprovel was the choice of music instead of astronomy. Well, 2 very serious points for the father and son, who were very close.

The "immoral relationship" was finished at 29th may 1976, immediately after QUEEN' Australia tour, the couple married in St. Osmund's Roman Catholic Church, a year later appears firstborn James (Jimmy) (15 June 1978), then Louise (22 May 1981) and Emily Ruth (18 February 1987). Despite the band's vicious life on tours, which could take up 9 months a year and which Brian occasionally spoiled in early interviews, the marriage was strong. But when there was a down of band's activities, everything began to fall apart: "It's very hard to adapt back to normal life. I was married [to Chrissie Mullen] and I had kids and the marriage survived the whole touring life really well. It was only when I stopped touring that things fell apart, because we couldn't adapt to living 'a normal life'.[..] People thought I'd defined myself in terms of being a rock star, but I defined myself as a husband and a dad, above everything else. [..]My dad died about the same time, and we also realized that Freddie wasn't right, so my whole world, in various pieces, was gone. [..] It was such a low point."
