im ash, my pronouns are they/them/xe/xem, i'm real life silver the hedgehog and i like making my dolls kiss. this is a sonic + r&c crossover au that started off by me drawing sonic and ratchet in various Predicaments together. the main "plot" revolves around sonic + ratchet navagating their differences and relationship, etc. the team dark side plot is. hohoho. the team dark side plot 😈.

asks both in and out of character are encouraged seeing as asks are like a cornerstone to this au imo, just keep anything sexual to a minimum seeing as im sex repulsed and most characters are minors (innuendo is probably about as far as im ok with. maybe for adults light hearted stuff like "they have cheeky bum sex on tuesdays"). also this does not mean "i think x ship is an aroallo relationship" is hereby blasphemy and warrants a trip to the gallows

*whuh oh. an asterisk. anyway, seeing as i like to interpret NiGHTS as canon to sonic, NiGHTS is canon to interstellar, too. i don't 100% believe it, but i really like the idea that ulala is a grown up claris sinclair, so i guess if you count 500 years into the future as "canon", she can be canon.

How did you guys get the ideas for your AUs?

short version: ummm i was drawing ratchet and sonic kissing and ummm urrr errrr

long version: once upon a time my main obsession was waluigi so i wrote a daily fanfic about waluigi that slowly descended into my own giant cross-fandom fic featuring yours truly as a main character (alongside waluigi and tails, naturally).

because both sonic and ratchet were involved i realised "oh hey, their personalities, circumstances and actions are really similar, i should make them buddies (i have written a post about this before)!" and then eventually, after i sort of went on indefinite hiatus for the fic (by accident), i started shipping them romantically instead. this started off as a few gag doodles then it began to become more fleshed out and eventually i had an au on my hands

as of the past few months, the sonatchet focus has sort of become less significant as i re-familiarise myself with ratchet and clank and realise just how similar these franchises as a whole are. this is probably because a decent few ex-sonic team members worked on the originals, although im not 100% sure on this??? anyway, you've got your general "corporations are the enemy" bad guy. most of the time, you're fighting robots. there's a green guy who goes hoverboarding* for some reason. soundtracks are straight 🎵bangin'🎵. a decent amount of it is inspired by black us culture.

*don't get at me for this extreme gear is basically a fancy hoverboard

r&c and sonic are also two of my oldest interests, with ratchet and clank literally being my first memory and sonic being something ive at least vaguely enjoyed since i was about 5, so it makes me extremely happy to put them both together
