I was just reminded of this enviable project. Chris Milkās work had a considerable influence on my thinking aboutĀ āshareableā content. The quality of participation in The Johnny Cash Project and the ease of participation in The Wilderness Downtown demonstrated two different ways to engage an audience. Technology andĀ ānever been done beforeā will never trump connection and emotional investment, but tech + feels is a magical combination.Ā
This incredibly simple time management system changed my workday.
Iāve experimented with the Pomodoro technique in the past. Itās great for freelancing or doing anything productive from a home office, itās a lot trickier to implement in an open-plan agency environment - unless you can magically block distractions & interruptions.Ā
Lena Dunham hosts Women Of The Hour, the newest podcast from BuzzFeed, and it features conversations with these incredible people and many more.
I think weāre all a little (or a lot) over Buzzfeedās clickbait listicles, but this podcast theyāve developed with Lena Dunham is top shelf. (I can say that one episode in - I know Iām going to love it hard.) It feels incredibly intimate and engaging, canāt wait for ep 2!
The Art of Asking: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help - Kindle edition by Amanda Palmer, BrenƩ Brown. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Use features like bookmarks, note taking and highlighting while reading The Art of Asking: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Let People Help.
I feel a little late to this party, but Amanda Palmer was as raw and open and generous as any writer could wish to be. Colour me inspired.Ā

Who stole my bliss? Was it Joseph Campbell? Did he take it to the grave with him? Iād better readĀ āThe Power of Mythā to find out.
Whatās your communication style? You have a particular style of communicating, of course, but do you know what it is, including its strengths and weaknesses, and how it compares to the styles of others? Over the past two decades of research, my team and I have found that there are [...]
I love digging in to a bit of communication theory, I always get some insight out of it. According to the quiz Iām anĀ āintuitiveā communicator, but reading through all the profiles I could relate to something in all of them. For example, Iām not aĀ āfeelingsā kinda person in the workplace, but I do invest time in building relationships and understanding how team members are feeling. So I wonder, are communication styles more sensitive to the precise context of each piece of communication? Is it useful to label people aĀ ātypeā? Or could it be more valuable to teach multiple styles to everyone? I imagine we each have aĀ ānaturalā style, but also have the capacity to develop other styles that adapt to a variety of situations and participants. A āresponsiveā style of communicator would most likely be more effective across the board, so letās all aim for that. Am I right?Ā
I just watched Glass a portrait of Philip in twelve parts, which was pretty damn inspiring. I have such respect for him, (with a hint of jealousy). He says some pretty insightful things, Iāll probably find more good stuff in his memoir.Ā
THE GAP by Ira Glass
I knowĀ āThe Gapā, when I was a devout perfectionist it pushed all my buttons. I didnāt quit.

āPerfectionism is the voice of the oppressor, the enemy of the people. It will keep you cramped and insane your whole life.ā
Iām a recovering perfectionist, so I need these little reminders.

New apps mean new opportunities.Ā
Itās an invitation. Itās a record player. Itās made out of paper. Itās amazing. (A few years old, but still amazing.)
