Secondly, yes. I think they were endgame. Obviously, the show was canceled, and we will never know for sure (even though I think it was confirmed by a writer somewhere), but the writers did too many foreshadowings and secret meanings between them for it not to be one of the endgame couples. I'm just sad we never got to see it, but in retrospect, it is a problematic show, and they did SO many things wrong.

The whole Rucaya triangle and how it was handled was a mess. I don't know if they could've delivered what we as fans were expecting of Riarkle. I look back now, and I shiver at the thought of how they would've handled Smackle.

And you know what? Even if they weren't planning on it being endgame/ruined it, WE know these characters and know where they were heading. Farkle and Riley find each other at some point. And maybe they break up, and it doesn't work, or maybe it works. Who knows. But they are for sure it for each other, the relationship that matters. I'm not that young anymore to believe you will find your soul mate in middle or high school.

But Farkle and Riley? They are friends for life.

The religion episode always comes to mind when I think of them, and of course, the Christmas one where Riley tells him she always wants to know who he is because she loves him. Keyword: always.

And imo, they absolutely would have gotten together. But, it's interesting cause how I would have wanted them to handle it, is probably such a far cry from how they would have handled it.

Between A Christmas Maya where they basically confirmed that Riley always loved Farkle and were foreshadowing resetting things, to the last episode where they hinted at Smackle being threatened by Riley... very interesting.

Looking at it now with a fresh set of eyes:

1. The whole triangle thing was goofy.

2. I think the best thing they could have done was slowly show that Farkle and Smackle were more friends than lovers because honestly they were in high school, people date and break up all the time.

3. Once Farkle and Smackle broke up, I thought that it would have been good if they all spent an episode or two on their own figuring out how they felt about everything that happened.

4. I always thought it would have been great if Farkle had a short term romance with another girl that wasn't Riley, but she was cool and good for him. Cause by the end, Farkle had really glowed up, and he should have had the opportunity to lean into his confidence.

Alright, I may get shot down completely for this but I think most of the Girl Meets World fans COMPLETELY MISUNDERSTAND the love triangle.

Now I know that sounds like an exaggeration but trust me with all the posts I've seen about it, it very much is not.

All of the people saying lucaya should've been endgame are 100% missing how the love triangle happened and even the end results, which were that Maya and Lucas didn't even like each other in that way.

The entire triangle stems from Maya's identity crisis where she loses herself and becomes more like Riley, and when she becomes like Riley she starts to experience Riley's feelings for Lucas to make sure he's good for her. And because she's becoming like Riley and also Riley saying her and Lucas are "siblings" (they are not), Lucas starts liking Maya as well.

The whole resolution to the triangle is Maya refinding herself and realizing that she never liked Lucas romantically, and Lucas realizing that he likes Riley, always has and always will, and he only liked Maya because she was Riley at the time.

And at the end of the day it doesn't even matter, because the real point was to show that no matter what they go through, Riley and Maya are still best friends and will always be best friends and will always be there for each other.

Also I feel like I should mention how Josh fits into this because that is also a thing that people get wrong. Josh isn't the bad guy in this situation, and Maya isn't wrong to like him. Three years isn't a very big age gap, especially when Maya is much more mature than her age would typically be. And Josh isn't a groomer for saying he'll wait, either. I know some people have big issues with that, but to me it's a really sweet and smart way to go about things and not any kind of evil or irredeemable action.

(For the record, I'm not anti- any of the ships here. I'm not anti-lucaya, anti-joshaya, anti-rucas, or even anti-riarkle. I don't care what you ship, I just want people to understand this story and why things ended up how they did in regards to these ships and characters)

Maya was not having an identity crisis until Riley and everyone around her forced her into believing she was having an identity crisis. They literally forced Maya into believing that she can’t like Lucas or get good grades or dress differently because it means she’s not Maya. If you want anyone to believe that this was what the series wanted to do, Then congrats, the story wanted you to believe that Mayas friends don’t want her to change, and that they’ll force an identity crisis on their friends.

And on top of that, ignoring the fact that Maya never dressed like Riley at all until that episode, Mayas wardrobe change was canonically because of Shawn. So iid you want to believe that Naya was turning into Riley, then you have to blame Shane for it because he was the one who told Maya to change her clothes. So are you saying that Shawn is the reason that Maya turned into Riley.

How did Lucas like Maya because she was Riley, when Lucas and Mayas entire relationship isn’t the same as Lucas and Riley’s relationship? When Lucas was talking about each girl, nothing he said about Maya was the same as what he said about Riley. What sense does that make. And you’re also saying that Maya calling Lucas ranger Rick is actually something that Riley and Lucas does? Because it seems like your argument is that Lucas and Mayas entire relationship is based on Lucas thinking that Maya is Riley.

Yeah I don't think we misunderstood the triangle - I think the argument that we all made those years ago for Maya/Lucas and by extension Riley/Farkle and Lucas/Riley was that you can care about two people equally, but not in the same way.

Saying that Maya only liked Lucas cause of Riley is somewhat disingenuous because there's so many things that happened before the whole love triangle thing even began: their banter, Lucas standing up for Maya and her art, tombstone and that whole saga, etc. All of those things were unique to Lucas and Maya.

One of the only reasons why we're lead to believe that Lucas didn't like Maya is because Lucas didn't get a chance to EXPRESS his feelings towards Maya because she shut him down due to this idea that she had become Riley...

It just wasn't true.

She had just changed and grew like a normal teenager because of her friend's good influence - much like Shawn did because of Cory's influence in BMW.

As for Josh/Maya - I also agree. Josh was never around and when he came around he inserted himself into a situation without having the full details. Of course he wasn't going to know the full situation and on top of that, his bias towards Maya colored his ability to be objective.

Overall, I disagree. The love triangle was a plot device they used (albeit somewhat unsuccessfully) to display what happens when you aren't honest about your feelings and how that affects your relationships, the consequences that can come by allowing people to tell you who you are/aren't and the importance of speaking your truth, no matter how uncomfortable it may be.

So towards the end of Across, Miles' suit gets badly ripped by Miguel and we even see blood on his body, from several places even (kudos to an animated "family" movie for going there, that's usually considered forbidden). Unless Miles somehow gets a change of clothing from his counterpart, I'm guessing he'll still be wearing the torn suit a while into Beyond? Now imagine the angsty scenario that whenever he and Gwen reunite and they have a quiet moment of talking between them, somewhere along the conversation (likely at a point when Miles is starting to open up to her and accept her attempt at the apology) Gwen won't be able to hold herself from letting her hand run over his wounded shoulder, her eyes just tearing up with hurt at the blood, her fingers caressing directly on his skin. Add the obligatory wince from Miles as she accidentally brushes a wound a bit too close and she jerks her hand away and apologises even more, the first tears breaching her eyes. Miles may have a pained smile and tell her it's okay, "you didn't give me these wounds" or something, Gwen answers all quietly "I feel like I did."

(Or tell me a better line, idk, I'm getting the scenario across at least ^^;)

Hi everyone, wanted to repost for all the new members of the community with the digital release of AtSV. I've compiled a list of 92 Gwiles/Ghostflower fic recs. It's got a mix of fluff and angst, with short and long fics and pre and post AtSV fics.

For those who have already seen this list, I've tagged all fics by word count so that you can sort by length (Ao3 does not natively support sorting by length for bookmarks). I've been adding bookmarks as new fics and series have been coming out, so you might find ones you haven't seen before.

My top 3 picks for those just getting started are:

Waking by awakening5: While not AtSV compliant, this fic absolutely nails the characters involved. A little smutty, but those scenes can be skipped. Brilliantly paced and so extremely satisfying.

I Don't Care Which Earth I'm On (As Long As It's With You) by FlyingSpaceDonut: An in progress novelization of BtSV. Probably the best of the BtSV novelizations so far, with a lot of fun ideas.

Miles/Gwen Shortfics by ianmalcolmreynolds: A bunch of excellently written oneshots for the two. Some angsty, some fluffy, some in between.
