I don't know where you live, but when you can, try to find old illustrated books for children from Slavic countries, Polish illustration of course being the closest to what you're probably looking for if you like my style. You'll always find at least a few of these books in old Polish homes, so it wasn't a problem for me to ''soak up'' this aesthetic.

Another source are ethnographic museums with folk art that is naive, imperfect and therefore very authentic, geniuine and full of imagination and unusual patterns. You can also look up some old, Eastern Bloc animations, we developed a very specyfic vibe for it you will not find anywhere else, very beautiful but also with a hint of something sad and disturbing. Last thing I would recommend to look up is a modernist period in Polish visual arts called ''Młoda Polska'' which is filled to the brim with folklore inspirations but reworked by academically trained artists, which makes it very unique and absolutely beautiful when it comes to compositions, colors, use of texture, art-noveau-inspired lines, everything. I've had a bit of an obsession with it ever since I first became consciously interested in art as a kid.
