I sit here in prayer and discernment, wondering: should I speak to a Dominican or a Franciscan vocations director? Or is there something more… another order, perhaps… one that I might be better suited for?

This journey feels like a path toward institutional life, something that has always drawn me. Yet so many questions swirl within me: Where do I go? What do I do? How should I begin? And what of those closest to me… what will my parents think? My brother? My grandmother, my godfather? What will my Greek community say? My cousins? My friends?

To pursue a monastic vocation outside the Greek Orthodox tradition feels, in many ways, like a rupture… perhaps even an outrage. Am I once again setting myself against everyone around me? Or is this the first time I am truly making a decision for myself… choosing to walk toward a life of spiritual depth, peace, and devotion?

I don’t yet know what I will do, or where I will go.
