i took alot of inspo from dungeon meshi lol. taking the lost realm and running away with it giving it purpose, turning it into a dimension where chaos bleeds into other dimensions, causing what is naturally impossible to occur, aka magic! it sets up a dichotomy of impossible vs. possible, magic vs. science, lost realm vs. reality, and sets the stage for vat7k to explore how to bridge that gap and rekindle the broken relationships throughout the story. 🙄 like how donnie and ullas relationship is broken and hugo and varians relationship fixes it holy shit!

the eternal library isnt really mentioned in here, so i might make another set of notes trying to explain it, but I think the EL is a pocket of the lost realm that demanitus discovered and tamed to harness its nature of manifesting all written records from reality. rather than desires, the EL reacts to human thoughts that manifest through written word instead of spoken word. so it has it's own little threads that connect it to reality, i just dont think it has magic threads that bleed into reality like the chaotic lost realk does. idk thats something to hammer out on another day.

Going back to Magic, INCANTATIONS, theyre what drive the original movie and the tangled series, the meat of whatever magic fuckery the og writers were playing with. like okay i can play too. If the Lost Realm reacts to emotions and desires, Incantations are the method that manifests those desires into intentions through spoken word, and causes a magical reaction in reality. demanitus and any other magical scribe write incantations by taking the time to figure out what words caused what reaction with what magical artifact. In Vatsk, I'd like to commit, to the idea that each trial, has a respective incantation, that demanitus maniacly carved onto the walls of each trial, to teach his students what was needed to complete said trial. in a perfect world where i didnt have to work fulltime id be able to write all 6 of those thangs. (corona doesnt get a new incantation 👎) but songwriting and poetry and all that, as it turns out, is kindof hard. and i feel like a cheat copying the same meter established by flower gleam and glow.

but yes! incantations are how magic is cast in tangledverse, and magic energy comes from another dimension. I'd like to add on that an incantation is not used for the demanitus device. duh. so magical machines set themselves apart even further from methods that require incantations.
