I'm a █▀█ █▄█ ▀█▀ ▀█▀ case

Alright, I didn’t expect to end on this, but now that word on the street is that I apparently hate trans women and trans people in general and that one specific anon (or anons, at this point I don't even care anymore) won't leave me alone until I do something, the natural thing to do is that I clear myself.

Now to the elephant in the room.

“Did you draw transfem Jax being beaten up?”

Yes, it was me.

​

But it wasn't meant to be an attack of any kind on trans women.

​

While I was drawing that one thing, it didn't occur to me that this could be considered hate art against a trans woman. I just envisioned it as a group of victims coming back at their abuser. I was more focused on Jax as a character than on her sexuality.

But I didn't realize that a lot of people wouldn't think the same.

​

Before I proceed with this, I, in no way or anything, don't hate trans women.

​

I do not in any way condone abuse or violence against trans women. That's a deeply disgusting thing to do, and I do not approve of it in any way.

​

I am aware that it is one of the most persecuted groups within the LGBT+ community. I am aware of how a lot of people struggle coming out and after. I am aware of how a lot of them have incredibly difficult lives. I firmly believe that trans folks, male or female, deserve their rights secured.

I am perfectly aware that Gooseworx herself is a trans woman. The last thing I want is to have beef with the transfem community.

​

My art wasn't meant to be an attack on trans women. I thought I was doing something harmless, just a funny meme.

​

I apologize if I hurt someone. It wasn't my intention.

​

But I want to clear up some things:

“You drew Jax’s “good timeline self” being abused”

​

First of all, it didn't occur to me that that version of Jax was meant to be from an alternative universe. I just interperted it as Jax eventually coming back and growing as a person.

​

I've seen other people using that design in timeskip scenarios. I assumed that was just the official Jax transfem design and not a completely different version from an alternative universe.

​

To me, “Jax if she wasn’t a piece of shit” meant a scenario where Jax came back and decided to embrace her true identity and make an effort to improve herself. Simple as that.

​

“Why did you draw that”

​

I saw some (joke) tweets about Ribbit and Kaufmo coming back to beat up Jax, and then I remembered that one Jojo's Bizarre Adventure meme. I thought it’d be a fun thing to redraw. Once again, it didn’t occur to me that this could be considered hate art.

Also, my unpopular opinion is that Jax deserves some accountability for what they did. Yeah, I know they went through a lot, yeah they did abstract. But still didn’t erase that they were awful to other people.

“Jax was repressed and abused themself-”

​

Buddy, I don't know what to tell you, but abused people can abuse other people. It's called a cycle for a reason.

​

Even Goose herself addresses it as abuse. Jax has abused people. She drove Ribbit to a suicidal state, and she tormented Ragatha for no reason. Do I even have to talk about Gangle?

​

Abuse is abuse.

​

Abuse victims do have the right to be mad at their abusers. You’re not entitled to their forgiveness.

It's pretty wild that I'm doing this now, when the industry is dying. I guess it helps preserve some animation history that may have otherwise wandered quietly under the porch to perish.
