⚠️🚨migraine alert🚨⚠️

i was not enjoying Dream of Death City (the worldbuilding and lore, i felt, were really cool and had a lot of great potential, but the writing style kept oscillating between pretentious and childlike, and the vibe felt more YA than the grimdark fantasy i was promised), so we are moving on!

i started with Arrival (Stories of Your Life and Others) but quickly found out that it is not just a story about first contact with an alien species and is actually a collection of short stories (was very surprised when it launched into a piece about climbing the Tower of Babel to break into the vault of heaven), so i'm also simultaneously reading Children of Time.
