NO FOR REAL and this is why it's so weird to me for people to get mad about that because he was pretty clear about the fact that he had goals in his other home throughout the entire route! i like the fact that they're both choosing to take on these responsibilities of leadership because they want to bring about a new era for fodlan and the rest of the world. it shows the strength of their friendship and i think it's also a more grounded and realistic ending—they're two adults who are making a mature decision for themselves and their people. and the end card implies that they weren't apart for that long and when you look at it next to claude's other endings, it basically looks like claude did an almyran throne no glitch speedrun so he could get back to byleth faster than any other love interest. some people don't stan a power couple but it's not our fault we're right
