I will admit, I did have some trouble with the poses for Kotlotl and Mothkie- I drew the lines for the heads and then remembered I should block out the shape for the poses, it was a bit difficult lol- but I did end up really loving how it turned out in the end <3

I genuinely love drawing other people's characters, it's definitely something I've missed, part of why I love joining contests like these, it lets me draw for others and practice by drawing something I'm unfamiliar with :D

(I am also very excited for Artfight for the same reason 0-0)

The March hotel was a art themed event hosted within a discord server over the month of... you guessed it, March!

The idea was you were prompted to post some art related project that you'd spent at least 10 minutes working on everyday to earn enough coins to pay rent, if you failed to pay rent you were evicted (given the evicted role and were unable to post art for the remainder of the event)

Besides the daily post, you could also earn coins by participating in challenges, running shops, or fishing :)

(I really adored the fishing especially, I took screenshots of everything I caught to document my findings :D)

Technically the splits are all non-binary like me, but I selected to give Asher the most "trans" arc to his past, he moves from presenting fem to presenting more masc

I just really felt it would be important to have at least one of them reflect the anxiety/fear I felt about changing my appearance and identity, fearing I would lose everything and everyone- A big part of his arc is also being driven to the extreme, he gets frustrated and decides he doesn't care anymore what others think, he no longer wants to hurt himself to make others happy.

Every once in a while I play around with my concept for a rewrite of the 5th generation of my little pony, I feel it had some interesting ideas and characters but much of it felt too silly compared to the previous generation-

In my rewrite one of the things changed is Zipp and Pipp's relationship, they are siblings and I feel there should have been more arguments/tension, siblings do not always get along- they are half sisters in my rewrite, Zipp is the oldest and heir to the throne, Pipp is two years younger and a lot more free, a lot of the tension between them is their different perspectives, Zipp sees Pipp as irresponsible and childish, believing she could never handle the responsibility forced on her, and Pipp is very frustrated being treated like a child, she enjoys her hobbies but wishes others would trust her more with things, she sees how stressed Zipp can be and wants to help.

Zipp's father is Gale Storm, he was a bodyguard to Haven before they fell in love, he is very unserious and silly, where Haven is more strict and put together, their relationship was a hasty decision, and quickly tension built, later Gale was framed for a crime, leaving Haven to choose between her husband and the safety of Zephyr Heights

Gale was banished to the Everfree, losing completely access to the ability of flight granted by the pegasus crystal, when it was later discovered he was innocent Haven sent guards to retrieve him, they were unable to find Gale however, only finding a few feathers alike to his near an ursa den, they proclaimed him to likely be dead due to this.

When Haven later remarried to Ambrosia Petals, Zipp was given the option to change her name, she refused, feeling it was a betrayal to her dad.

Winnowna Blight was a former best friend to Astral Waybright, the two met when Winnowna caught Astral breaking rules, they became quick friends, Astral was desperate to be liked and Winnowna enjoyed that they didn't listen to authority and just did his own thing.

Winnowna and her mother, Asriel Blight, didn't get along, Asriel was a grand sorceress, member of the grand council governing over the magic world, she held high expectations for Winnowna to follow in her footsteps, she wanted nothing to do with the council, in fact she wanted nothing to do with this world, she knew there were other worlds out there and dreamed of escaping her mother and exploring them someday...

Asriel did not approve of the two's friendship, she tried multiple methods to break them apart, including taking Astral under her wing as a apprentice, these lessons from her personally took up extra time during the day, less time for this brat to be around her daughter-

Astral didn't much care for Asriel either, knowing full well Winnowna didn't like her, but his dreams of being great and well known motivated him as well

While Astral was often preoccupied, Winnowna ended up befriending a new student who joined mid-year, Jeremiah Spectere, offering him help in catching up on lessons, this of course made Astral jealous, that was his friend, Jeremiah needed to back off-

But when Jeremiah went missing, Astral's open dislike for him ended up being a curse, it was assumed Astral had done something to Jeremiah, even Winnowna blamed them, refusing to speak to them

One night Winnowna made her decision, she was going to run away, she didn't need her mother looming over her anymore, but as she was leaving Astral confronted her, desperately trying to understand why she was mad, he didn't do anything and he wanted to make that clear, during their argument however, Asriel Blight showed up, quickly twisting this in her favor, a fight began between Astral and the grand sorceress, both determined to protect Winnowna in their own way, but in the end, they both lost...

Astral intended to strike Asriel, a fatal blow that should have hit her... but Winnowna got in the way, trying to reason with her mother, trying to stop the fight, Astral's anger quickly dissolved to shock, Asriel took this moment to cast a spell, using Winnowna's life and soul to weave a extremely powerful binding spell, sealing Astral's magic completely.

If the loss of his best friend and magic wasn't enough of a sting, the grand sorceress also chose to banish Astral from the magic world... permanently.

And finally notes on the final doodle, white hair is very precious in the magic world, how much white you have in your hair determines how much power you hold inside you, naturally those born with more white hair get higher ranks and better treatment, while those with less get lower ranks and are treated worse, those with no white in their hair are basically considered "worthless" in this world.

Due to the value of the white streaks, it is very frowned upon to alter that part of your hair in any way, most specifically dying it or using spells to hide/alter it.

Astral during their banishment used to dye their hair a lot, mostly as an attempt to like their appearance again since the shift in their hair color from the binding spell, when their white hair came back, they felt like they lost the ability to dye it anymore.

Ultimately Asher was the one to convince him, "why do you care what they think when they didn't even care if you lived or died??"

This is definitely not me procrastinating on actually making the story episodes for the series (lie)

But honestly for real, my problem truly is... I struggle with the beginning of stories XD

I can work well with scenes in later parts, but having to establish the characters and their world? Horrendous, 0 stars, I hate it lol-

The reason I have selected to begin with Moonrise though, is because out of all the arcs, this one had the most put together beginning point (and wasn't being actively rewritten in such a way that everything was a fucking disaster XD)

Me and my sister started a modded world recently, we are renovating a village near the ocean, so that's the inspiration for the fisherman/pirate looks lol-

"Shore-core" as I had been jokingly calling it (loosely inspired by Lilsimsie and her "Phil-core" animal crossing island, I found it funny heheh-)

Of course now our world is named Shore-core thanks to DawnShimmerstar- XD

This piece takes place after Astral was put on trial for theft (specifically stealing some spell books from one of the members of the grand council, Asriel Blight)

Astral wanted to help Leila learn more about magic, but five years away from the magic world left their memories of most spells a little fuzzy... so of course the only natural solution is to sneak back (despite being banished) and steal from the very same person who you pissed off to begin with-

(In his defense, he was confident Asriel wouldn't be there and was concerned that going to a public shop/library would be a quicker way to get caught)

This action resulted in a summons from the council, which Astral had no confidence in a good outcome from this. He insisted on going alone, not wanting to risk his friends in anyway, but they refused to let him do this by himself.

During the journey, Astral was very closed off, barely speaking to any of them, he didn't want to do anything to upset them or hurt them when he was sure these were their last moments together (as he was sure he would either be imprisoned or executed-)

But his emotionless mask only worried them more, Asher especially, who was happy to have seen that Astral was finally letting down the mask and being his genuine self, he hated to see these circumstances undo their progress.

When it was finally time for the trial, Astral once again insisted they let him go in alone, to which they once again, refused, which was backed up by Asriel Blight herself, who recognized Leila and Asher from when they showed up to protect Astral before.

The trial ended up going in Astral's favor, as he had nothing to hide, and even was willing to let his memories be scanned through, even still, it was a very exhausting event for them all-
