Nothing is the same. Ironic that we both (unknowingly) captured images of each others backs. This is what our love feels like. I see you, but I can’t see you. Things are unraveling. You feel different. You called to ask if things will always be this awkward for us now. My lips quivered as I said “I’m unsure”.

Friday morning we decided to do Coachella together. We rode around the city—more friend than couple— hunting down the perfect overalls for you. We talked about the fun we would have, the epic photos we would take together, the experience of it all. Coachella happened— and we unhappened. You don’t know how to mix what we have with your freedom, as if I’m tying you down. This may be the last photo we will ever take together. Everything changed after this weekend.
