It was apparent how badly he was outmatched at least in maneuverability. In the time it had taken him to come to his feet, a motion that would have had him at an advantage against another human, she had already closed the gap, now she could easily grab him again before he could bring the twisted blade to intercept properly. If he could not reason with this humanoid, he would more than likely have to try and fight, something that could only be managed by the incarnate summon. As she repeated the word, he first thought that she did not understand the meaning of it, and thought he might have to explain. But her facial features, despite being alien, were similar to a humans. And he could read the rage in her visage as much as he could tell that the bark of the trees was brown. Evenly, his amethyst gaze followed her as she grew to her full height, as if to look imposing. It was a natural mechanism for defense or territorial displays. ”Wrong." His voice echoed against the rage in hers, calm and collected though inwardly he was beginning to become on edge. "I would have preferred to avoid it." In truth, he didn’t want to kill the beasts, but he had no desire to have them chewing on his flesh. He asserted dominance by killing the alpha, and now the others stayed away. ”Oblivion is the fate of all things. Yet that does not make it a happy task to dispatch a creature." The words he spoke rang in his head, having once spoke at least the former part before. Yet, in the centuries between then and now, his outlook had changed. He, who was responsible for the destruction of an entire world, had managed to ascertain a value of life. He needed to de-escalate this fight. In a contest of strength he might prevail, but she would win in agility. The only way he saw fit to do that was to remove his only visible means of threat. The twisted blade was stowed upon his back in short order, and he stood with palms open, towards her. “There is no need for this to continue." Though, as he spoke, he considered trying to call a beast from the world as he had done ages past. But would they listen? He wasn’t sure if he should try.
❛ Wrong. It is your fault. Your fault. ❜
Was he so blind as to believe that all things would die, no matter the consequences? That they would fall into nothingness with no way out? Their strength and energy was only borrowed, brought to them from the giving light of the great mother, Eywa. This human was just like the rest, speaking as though he could not have prevented their attack. But he stepped on their land, invaded their territory, and in their defense they met his blade.
❛ Stupid. Ignorant and without hope. There are others like you who cannot learn. Silver beasts and walls that create pain. From a world that is dead. ❜
Her hands balled into four-fingered fists, pronounced canines shimmering in response to this man's idiocy. She was beginning to grow irate from his attempts at diplomacy-- did he not realize that it was he who was now invading her world? The diplomacy would fall to she, if he could be bothered to lower the blinders on his mind.
