&. YOUNGEST LYON.

       he didn’t check his phone that morning .  he had his notifications turned off so that he would avoid distractions .  if he wanted to get through his finals, he really needed to dedicate the weekend to them at least .  he thought the best option was to take his laptop, drive at a nearby café, and study there .  for some reason, he was a lot more motivated by the noise of a coffee shop rather than the overwhelming silence of the library .  he left his dorm and headed out to the parking lot of the campus .  that was when he’d found ximena destroying someone’s car .           ‘    hey!  mena!  ’      dean called out right away and ran to her .      ‘  —  what are you doing?!  are you nuts?!   ’    he didn’t even know whose car that was, let alone why she broke its windows .

 he exhaled a sigh in relief, but it was rather momentary .     ‘ oh  … neat .  blood bags, yeah …  that should do it .  ’      he muttered, trying his best not to make himself sound as intimidated  and overwhelmed by everything as he truly felt .      ‘   so  … no more coffee dates?  ’     he inquired in a joking manner to lift some of the pressure that he felt in the room .

LAST THING SHE NEEDED TO SEE WAS THAT PICTURE.  her gaze is locked on her phone as it showed a picture the media posted of  dean   &   maddie kissing  at the party last night ,  the gathering mena told her boyfriend to attend instead of coming to see her   ;   she figured he needed to hang with the boys since he’s had all his attention on her after her mother’s passing. the blood under the lyon’s skin began to boil  ,  that built up anger getting the best of her with her mind running a marathon.  her blood shot hues are scanning the campus in hopes one of he two would appear in her path.  it wasn’t long until her gaze locked on maddie’s car then her eyes looked for the nearest weapon ,  stealing a BASEBALL BAT from a nearby abandoned duffle bag. ximena heard the whispers about the image ,  about how crazy she looked   &   it just added fuel to the fire. then the bat came into contact with one of maddie’s car windows.  every little thing that was bothering the female was released in her violent action  ---  the photo ,  her therapist ,  her family  ,  her mother’s death ,  she was done trying to be normal.  they wanted to hear a lyon roar  ;  SHE SHALL BE SET FREE.

   despite her reassuring tone, dean couldn’t help but feel small and out of place in such a big mansion with such estranging people.  although he knew the basics about her family and he had visited them before, it didn’t make him any less anxious every time   —     plus, it had been quite some time since his last visit, and he couldn’t help but feel like a new kind of tension had developed.  at her question he turned to her and shook his head.        ‘  oh, no.  i think we’re already late enough. ’   he chuckled through his nervousness as he took initiative to proceed at the table where the others would already be seated and waiting  …   

       state of mind regained its senses steadily but at a slow pace, as his body was slowly resetting.  he tried to focus on her words as he couldn’t help but notice how familiar and soothing her voice and her presence was.  it was almost unfathomable to replay the scene in his head and recollect what had happened to him.  it was as if his mind wouldn’t let him remember just yet, in fear of causing more damage on a mental level.      ‘   woah   …      —   ’  he remarked, while she held him.  a weakened hand reached for hers, but he didn’t have the strength to hold her as tightly as he wished.  it was right then that a nurse returned along with the doctor as the two interrupted the couple’s conversation to examine dean.    

    IT’S A MIRACLE,  dean heard him mumble to himself.    ‘  you must have an angel watching over you, son.  ’
