Lowes LP…Lowes … this varies from store to store … some will have a sliding camera system. This is a long shiny tube running down the main aisles that cameras run back and forth on … you never know where the cameras are. All stores will have PTZ over Tools and Faucets (the two most common lifted items). There will be PTZ cameras on the outside also. Some stores will have cameras on every aisle while others wont have any. Over each POS and registers and they will tag a pic of you when you do a receiptless return. There is always one LP on while the store is open, rarely will there be two. They are plain clothed and do walk the store. The LP office in 90% of their stores is by the contractors doors. You will see a door with a key pad and an eye hole.

Macy’s With Receipt … 180 days for a full refund on most items. Without Receipt … MUST HAVE POP LABEL (Proof of Purchase) LP … Has active and good LP. Always has at least 2 LP on duty at all times. Will chase you. Cameras are actively monitored. Cameras have zoom but not full tilt and pan. Known for placing same sex employees in dressing rooms. In some stores (in some states) they can have a camera pointed in the direction of the dressing rooms, or they just can’t have them “recording” and they have to be watched by same sex personnel. Or they can have same sex personnel on the other side of the double mirrors or watching thru the “slats” in the door - especially if they hear a lot of commotion in there.

Michael’s With Receipt … Refunds will be offered in the original method of payment, 60 day limit. Nordstrom Nordstrom has possibly the most famously liberal return policy among the major retailers. First of all, there’s no time limit. And gift stickers affixed to the packaging act as receipts for the full merchandise value. Using that information, the store’s computer system can easily find anything paid for by credit card with an ID. LP… extremely good & active LP. Undercover LP is always present in the women’s dept but not always in the men’s.

Target Target has revised its return policy to allow for more returns without a receipt, but still caps the total to $70 worth of merchandise annually. After that, any return without a receipt gets store credit in the form of a Target gift card only useable on items from the same department. LP…. Active. Normally 1 to 3 AP at all times. They probably have the most cameras of any retailer, but about 40 to 45% of the camera domes in newer stores will be fake. In older stores, there will be only 60 cameras for the entire sales floor.

i’ve never been in a situation where luck got me out of being caught (thank god) but there was this guy that always used to lift at the store i worked at and lemme tell you- this guy SUCKED.

he was so obvious and was literally going against all basic lifting knowledge (looking directly at cameras, sketchy clothing, SPRINTING AWAY FROM SA’S!!!) And the worst part was that he hit us every day at the exact same time so my managers immediately caught on and vowed that the next time they saw him they were gonna call the police.

The next night, i’m working the night shift and i see him come in and immediately in my head i’m like “this guy is such a bad lifter he deserves to get caught” so i start to call my manager over. but suddenly, a part of me sympathized with him. i didn’t know why he was lifting but maybe he had a good reason to. so as quickly as i could i wrote a note, shoved it in a store basket, and snuck over to him.

“hi” i said, “would you like a basket to help you shop today?” of course he was freaked out by me since i was a worker and declined. then, a little forcefully i said with a smile “take the basket” and shoved it in his hand, with the note attached. he looked at me strangely and then read the note as i walked away. the note said “you suck at shoplifting :( email me at [email protected] for some help”

luckily he got the hint, ditching his shit, and as he left the store we made really intense eye contact.

low and behold when i got home i had received an email from him and from there i gave him a ton of tips, and obviously he was super surprised that i actually was helping him. when i got to the point where i could trust him i gave him my number and we really grew to like each other so now i have an awesome, funny, caring lifting bf who is learning about lifting beside me. and i think that was pretty lucky :)

I saw this tag over a week ago in Rîver Islànd - I’d never seen it before so it caught my attention.

It freaked me out because I thought the little holes meant the tag was alarmed. I looked at it in the changing rooms and it turned out all the clothes items had them.

It turns out this is called a Concept Tag. It’s new, it’s being hailed as an amazing shôplifting deterrent, and it’s becoming increasingly popular.

It has a unique locking mechanism that makes it pretty much impossible to remove with force - one would need to apply over 50kg of pressure to force it open. It has rfid technology that makes the towers beep. It contains ink as well. As far as I can tell, the raised part acts as a key hole - the other end is the part with the pin, so the raised part with the dots is part of the unlocking mechanism.

This is set into the shop desks by each till, and is hooked up to the tills themselves. It communicates with the tills to unlock the tag - it has to be scanned to deactivate the tag. This means that even strong golf magnets don’t work on it.

Thankfully, my initial suspicion wasn’t correct - the holes on the tag aren’t to make it beep. So at least that’s something.

It seems that ease with which lïfting tools can be bought online hasn’t gone unnoticed, and it’s resulted in stores trying to find new ways of deterring us. Hence this new tag. The store that use it have reported a 60% reduction in retail items with this tag. It’s spreading as well: the UK store Matálan has also begun trying it out.

The tag can be removed, but not without a large amount of damage to the garment. I lîfted two pairs of jeans during this trip to Rîver Îsland. Both pairs had a concept tag pinned to the seat of the jeans. I opted for cutting the tag out, and was left with two large holes:

While they were easily patched, the damage ensures that one cannot boost clothes in this condition. Also, I doubt everyone has my amateur sewing skills😅😅 Luckily, no one I’ve worn my jeans around have noticed the damage…

I used to be cold every morning, I used to have a thin blanket as my comforter and the same five outfits with zero makeup and one body spray and deodorant, today I just woke up covered in my lifted bedspreads with my head on my lifted pillows, sat down at my desk and put dry shampoo in my hair instead of leaving it oily, elegantly put lifted makeup on, applied a lifted deodorant and body spray all while getting changed into lifted leggings,socks and a winter jacket. There is NOTHING different about my social status between these two point in my life. My mom still makes no money and I still don’t have a steady job. I am happier, I am happier, I am happier with lifted things to make me feel like a person.

I am clean, I have makeup, I have a nice room, I have the school supplies I need, I have perfumes and lotions galore. If you told me that I’d have this much when I was 14 I’d laugh. Lifting changes my life. The confidence I now have is astonishing. So now catch my modeling down my schools walk way with my new $250 coat!
