Last couple of days of bar prep have kicked my ass
I was right on track through Tuesday but Iām now at least half a day behind
Considering doing my study schedule a little out of order to get a graded essay done on schedule tomorrow; canāt decide if itās a bad idea or not
this is only ten days in send help
Not sure where you most find comfort, so here are my best attempts!
That was literally the most encouraging set of gifs Iāve ever seen. And OP (lawblr I do not know personally? HIIII) Iām doing Themis and am also 100% not ready to write the graded essay thatās due tomorrow for us. And Iām sitting on my ass watching DWTS. You are not alone.
All the good vibes from the battered crew who has come before.
OKAY SOOOOOO I feel kinda bad now because my old neglected Tumblr mislead some folks, lol. So to clarify:
I am an old-timey lawblr (class of ā16). I didnāt post really anything on Tumblr from 2017 until a few days ago, so the original post here is ancient. I quit Tumblr while I was studying for the bar, didnāt even log in for like a year, and have been just lurking for quite a while. The recent revival of the #real-lawblr discourse pulled me back in. And Iām totally a lawyer now! Iāve been in-house with the same non-profit since shortly after graduation.
I am not taking the bar exam this week, thank god.
I did fail the bar exam on my first attempt (July 2016) and passed on the second (February 2017). Ironically, California has since retroactively lowered the cut score such that I actually should have passed on the first time. (I am grumpy about this and want my fees and emotional distress damages from the retake back.)
But I can say this: in the long run, it did not matter. It really, really sucked for a few months, and then, it was okay. It has not negatively impacted my career prospects at all, especially since my employer was extremely accommodating about my need to retake.
If you are taking the bar exam this week, I fully co-sign the above gifs. Youāve got this. It is an absolutely absurd exam that youāre being asked to take under ridiculous circumstances. Youāre a hero for making it through, and you deserve whatever relaxation/celebration treats you choose.
In conclusion: real lawyer (not a role-playing youth), the bar exam should be abolished, and keep your studyspo out of real lawblr.
