Intellectually I understand that the reason we say "the MCU fandom circa 2012" when talking about that then-they-all-lived-together-in-one-big-house fandom stuff is because the first Avengers movie came out in 2012, but emotionally it feels like the post-Phase One MCU has been going on for nine hundred fucking years.

You need to understand that the last time a Big Stupid Cinematic Universe was so synonymous with cranking out vast quantities of incomprehensible crossover-ridden schlock was the Universal Monsters franchise a hundred years ago, and even they took 25 years to hit thirty films. The post-Avengers MCU did it in 13.
