where were you going?

     ‘ now, i could be mistaken, ’ sarah says, fingers laced loosely together, a thumb pushing circles into her open palm. it’s the flicker of teeth and the deepening crease in her cheek that betray the evidence of her certainty. ‘ -- but you must be cosmo brown. ’ 

     slipped in after the pleasant surprise of being discovered, the bite of dull teeth split his mouth open into a tiny grin. ‘ are we h--ere on business or pleasure? ’ 

     ‘ zzzt -- shut. please -- hey -- shut it. ’ he’s crouched atop one of kit’s counters, ( because why not? ) frantically waving his hands at sandy in a shoo-ing motion. she has him cornered, paws set firm against the edge of the counter, jaw all wide from her barking. 

     look at your dad, solveig. isn’t he cool? look at that balance. 

     ‘ don’t -- don’t get -- used to it. ’ 

     ‘ must say -- i’m an enormous fan of your work, darling. ’ 

     ‘ ohh -- ’ he drags the word out with a leisure that stings. ‘ ain’t that a bite. ’ 

     her neck tilts backward as her chair tips gently onto two legs, eyes casting past rook’s head and toward the slumped shoulders of their fellow deputy. nancy is unsubtly trying to nudge his chair with her foot. joey snorts, settling back down to earth. < like a light. > 

but also: who’s gonna let me capitalize off of the infinite lives / checkpoints phenomenon in video games and let me write a player character oc ( namely sosu or rook ) who is just. somehow immortal. a character that is just inexplicably immortal and doesn't notice until someone watches them take a solid drop from like four or five stories and come away unscathed. a character who crashes a helicopter and tumbles out of the burning wreck with ash on their face and nothing but a scratch to show for it.
