I must remember this:

there is a place in the heart that will never be filled and we will wait and wait in that space

And you make jokes because you’re afraid to take anything seriously. Because if you take things seriously, they matter.

The words you speak become the house you live in.

Nice people don’t necessarily fall in love with nice people.

empathy is honestly so exhausting. it makes you take on all this additional heaviness that you didn’t want in the first place. it makes you feel guilty for being angry or upset because it’s so good at making excuses for other people. it makes you vulnerable to abuse or neglect.

tomorrow my coworker has to say goodbye to her cat and even just knowing this, i’m already feeling small amounts of grief for her. i don’t know the cat, i don’t even know this woman well but i can’t shut it off. 

Rosemary, lavender, sage, rain, grass, the smell of the person you love.

Don’t you think there is always something unspoken between two people?

All you can do in life is to be who you are. Some people will love you for you. Most will love you for what you can do for them, and some won’t like you at all.
