“What is it this time?” Ron sighed, setting his briefcase down. Ratthew gave a half-lidded glare for a moment before replying. “I'm always here, you should know why by now. Nerd.”

Ron sighs and sits in the chair at his desk. “Those bunnies were spreading rumors about us.” Ratthew casually mentions as if it was nothing, pretending to be interested in the paperwork Ron began to do. “The interns?” Ron didn’t look up from his paper just yet.

“Yeah. Think we’re into each other or something.” He pauses. “Weird, am I right?” Ron froze, pen hovering above the paper while Ratthew suddenly becomes very interested in a paper clip near them. Us? Of all the ridiculous rumors floating around the hospital, that was the one the interns had chosen? “Why would they- Thats not-“ Ratthew side-eyes him. “You’re stuttering.”

Basicallyyyy Ash Salt Cookie and Croissant Cookie are rlly gay for eachother but they won’t do anything abt it.

“Then tell me this,” Croissant pushed further. “Why haven’t you taken the prototype yet? Or better yet, why haven’t you left?”

A long, suffocating silence filled the room.

Ash Salt’s fingers twitched against her sleeves.

“You ask too many questions.” Ash Salt finally looked away. For the first time since arriving, she couldn’t bring herself to meet Croissant’s eyes.

Croissant blinked before a smug grin slowly spread across her face.

“Are you… flustered?”

Her theory had been confirmed far faster than she expected.

“I am not..!” Ash Salt snapped, gripping her sleeves tighter. The faint tension in her posture betrayed her immediately. “Whatever. I’m leaving.”

With her arms crossed tightly over herself, she turned away before Croissant could tease her any further.
