Hello everyone! Sorry for the extreme inactiveness with being online, my course has FINALLY ended for summer so I can be more active for the next few months!

Anyway, unfortunate news regarding GOA. My trial on Clip Studio Paint has ran out, which has put a massive bump with regarding the art, especially character art. This not only includes sprites and cgs, but also character official art and reveals too. Due to money, I cannot afford to renue my subscription yet so I will have to put a pause on art completely.

Could I freehand everything instead of using assets from Clip studio? I could. But they would not look good at all and I wouldn't be happy as both a developer and a player to see the art like that.

I am looking to save funds for Clip Studio, but there isn't an estimate yet.

In more positive news, the game is coming along smoothly with actual content! I'm getting close to the halfway mark for the demo, and if I manage to keep this pace without burning myself out, the full game should be released sooner than expected!

Hello! Just wanted to post about the new video including updates for my visual novel Goodbye Once Again, as well as sneak peaks for the game, plus the speedpaint of the new character reveal- August Ambrose!

August is Everest's older brother and main caretaker throughout the game. He appears in the Year 1 introduction and is one of the main characters. Please leave any questions in my ask or below!

Evening everyone! Just wanted to update about the polls regarding GOA and the art issue I had.

By the results of the poll, the content of the game will be prioritized over art. HOWEVER, this does not mean ALL art will be done last. UI assets, Important cgs and other relating art (see poll) will be finished by the demo release.

The poll only lets me know what I should put more focus onto. When the demo releases, this means there will be more gameplay, but there may be missing sprites and/or cgs. But I may use temporary free assets to be placeholders until I update these.

If the placeholders are still in effect by the demo release, an update would be released shortly before the rest of the game is finished to add in these missimg assets.

Hello everyone and happy early pride!

Just wanted to give an update regarding GOA and it's development progress as I haven't done one for a while now... whoops!

ANYWAY, majority of Month 1 Memory 1 is now complete (not including art, see recent poll regarding art). I can now reveal that the M1M1 title is called "Hangout"! I won't spoil what the exact details are, but know there's 3 different paths for this memory, 2 of them with planned cgs, and at LEAST 3 variations of each path.

Out of all the Memories, M1M1 was probably the one that took the longest, but will end up being the one that is the least polished, so please forgive me for that when the demo releases!

As M1M1 is now complete, I have moved onto M1M2. This 2nd Memory won't be as detailed as M1M1, but the M2M1 will have a LOT more details.

As always, thanks for checking out the development of GOA, and in case I forgot to post, the current soundtrack of all the songs that I have made is now available to listen to on YouTube! Go check it out!

Would you prefer:

A. The game to have more details and events to play in the demo, but little-to-no cgs and no character sprites

B. The game to have all character sprites and some/most of the cgs but less content to play

This'll help me narrow down my priorities, as I'm struggling so bad rn with my art, let alone character sprites, to the point it's affecting the game itself. :')

Hello everyone and welcome to the third monthly devlog of my visual novel, Goodbye Once Again!

This is going to be a much shorter devlog compared to before, as I haven't had much of a chance to worj on GOA recently. There will be a YouTube video explaining this is more detail, as well as future updates! Now, onto April updates.

-> Scenes for the Month 1 Memory 1 moment have been added

As known, the biggest setback I had was gathering free, non-copyright scenes for the background. I have found these and began writing the different scenes!

-> Route updates

In M1M1, there are 3 variations of the entire memory, as well as 3 different scenes FROM those original variations. This should mean there's 9 different variations of this moment :')

-> Music!

I changed the music in some scenes, such as the hangout music, and the cafe music. This is mostly for my own enjoyment as I was sick of the same music playing during playtesting

Hello Everyone! I have officially finished my first game, In Your Heart - a psychological horror game about a delusional man who truely believes you're his angel.

Currently in the middle of a project, and since it's stressing me OUT, I decided to begin Everest's brother's design, August!

This is just a short post as I've currently became ill and cannot work on GOA for now, but here's some details about the demo that should be released by late 2026!

1. There should be enough content for 1-3 hours worth of gameplay.

GOA isn't intended to be a short project. There are planned to be 3 (maybe 4) years, each with 6 months. Each month should have 1/2 "memories", which gives the player 18 months, with 1-2 memories per month.

2. There will be special routes based on your points with Everest!

Since this is my first major project, depending on how perfectly the player interacts with Everest (Esp in Year 1 intro), you can unlock special scenes, options and CGs! These will be put into the demo and final game.

3. Easter eggs!

Even though they may be classed as spoilers for Year 2, there are 2 easter eggs (so far) relating to the Player's name, and 1 easter egg in Year 1 intro!

4. Word Count.

I have no prediction for word counts as off right now, but ideally Year 1 from intro-Month 6 will be ~30k - 50k words. The intro alone is 14k and I still have to finish all the months yet!

5. What will the demo include?

The demo will include the intro, months 1-3 at MINIMUM or entirety of Year 1 MAXIMUM, Completed CGs, Hidden routes, and 1 bad ending (if you manage to upset Everest THAT badly).

Hello everyone! Welcome to my end of month devlog for Goodbye Once Again!

Now, I'm not planning on 2 devlogs a month. This will be the only time where there is 2 in one month as I began GOA. Now, update time!

I finally finished the first version of Year 1 introduction. Right now, there is 14,568 words for the intro ALONE!! I'm currently unsure if that's a lot, or if it isn't enough, but we'll see!

I've began working on Child Everest's sprites, and finished a rough draft of August (Everest's brother/Caretaker) and the player's mother! So by next month the demo should have all the sprites needed for the introduction at minimum.

My YouTube is also doing well. I'm planning on making a video for this friday, but it may be delayed until Sunday. Hopefully not, fingers crossed!

So, what does the demo include now that I finished the introduction? Well, it includes customisable first & last name, Easter Eggs with the name creation, pronoun selection and a point system for Everest! These points become relevant in the introduction, as they influence what Everest thinks of you as first impressions! I'm planning on adding a customisable MC as well by the demo's release.

Is the demo nearly finished? Absolutely not. We aren't even halfway to it's release yet! But if my motivation keeps up, I may be able to bring it forward by a month. I'm planning on having Year 1, Months 1-3 done at minimum for the demo, and entirety of year 1 at a push.
