This is more of me yapping than necessarily overanalyzing, but I have a little bit I'd like to say about Mellow Dear Us:

I've seen some people saying Bubble Gum Dance is too cutesy or that they wanted mdu to be more mature. However, maybe I just am the US audience, but I think its important to note their original audience was the US, not Japan.

Mellow Addiction has a lot of video game-y effects in the instrumental, and definitely has the vibes of an old arcade. Arcades are definitely a pretty big thing pulled on in US media when it comes to nostalgia.

Bubble Gum Dance continues this nostalgic vibe with the candy store thing. Candy stores are an attraction, at least here in the midwest, and there's just a vibe to it. Especially when you look at malls, which used to be a big thing to hang out at (back when they weren't over priced garbage and supported loitering-)

Also when you look at the outfits, it's genuinely just very 90s-00s. Neon and mix and match patterns and over accessorizing and just being noticeable.

idk if my point is getting across here but I don't really think Bubble Gum Dance feels that outlandish for mdu since they've been set up to incorporate western culture.

#ooh i really like this #my interpretation was that by having them branch out into different styles it kinda separates them from the other units #especially when considering that they’re more popular internationally #and a lot of groups popular internationally (typically kpop or global groups) will experiment with different styles #but in enstars there’s not a lot of fluxuation in each unit’s style because there’s so many units and they don’t want them to overlap #idk but watching the mv really felt like i was watching a preexisting group debut a new comeback and i really like how it fits into cannon
