'Bunker Steak'
Another art batch! Finally drew their current designs, plus more big shot era stuff. Might change the pants color on the wedding outfit tbh.
I originally thought about giving puppet Spamton visible light roots instead of the gray streaks, since his hair is dyed, but idk, maybe the Dark Worlds have magic hair dye that permanently changes your hair color and then it can gray. A big part of why I went for the streaks is that I just don't know how to draw the roots properly; I tried a couple times and then gave up.
I draw current Tenna with stitches and headcanon him as having lasting issues with his arms. Spamtenna chronic pain couple ftw.
The top right drawing in the third image exists just for the "spamming his 'tenna" joke. And the pipis drawing is there as an easy way to fill space.

While I'm personally not really interested in making a Dreemurr Tenna AU/posting about it with any regularity, I do have a couple ideas I felt like putting out there, just to share and maybe give someone else an idea.
I saw a couple posts with this AU concept, where Tenna is a Dreemurr relative, and I believe in both cases he was Asgore's relative- Since the TV he personifies in canon stays in the house with Toriel after the divorce, I'd argue he has more of a connection to her, so I'd personally have him be her relative instead. Being a firm believer in trans guy Tenna, I have the idea that maybe he and Toriel were born as twin sisters (maybe even identical twins), but he transitioned later in life, so now Toriel has a brother.
I've seen this AU concept having Spamton as a human, and I can see that; he's pretty humanoid already, so it wouldn't be too much of a leap. And since there probably wouldn't be interference from The Horrors in this version, he and Tenna can just be happily married. Without the severe trauma he has in canon, he'd also be more outwardly affectionate/be more open about his attachment to people, especially family members. (He would also have a different, more normal name.)
Tenna is normally away working, with Spamton working alongside him, but they visit Hometown from time to time, and Spamton helps Kris feel less alone as a human, since they're no longer the only one in Hometown. Kris also gets to spend time with Spamtenna's monster-human hybrid daughter.
(How do Spamton and Tenna have a bio daughter in this version if both are trans? If there's no weird magic biology and it works like it does in the real world, then a relative donated genetic material).
Tenna and Toriel, as siblings do, have some rivalry going on, and one way it probably shows up is that they're criticizing/nitpicking each other's parenting, though in truth both are taking good care of their kids, and their kids love them.
I like the idea that, even if this is a happy AU where the tragic stuff doesn't happen, Toriel still ultimately divorces Asgore (I saw an Undertale AU like this once). While she moves on, Asgore still tries to get her back.
And this puts Tenna in a bit of an awkward position. He comes to visit one day and just kind of finds himself caught between his sister and his friend either in the process of divorcing or being freshly divorced. His own happy marriage to Spamton is kinda rubbing salt in the wound, too. And he's conflicted; he obviously cares about his sister and wishes Asgore would just move on and stop bothering her, but he also doesn't have many close friends and worries that being too harsh to Asgore might lose him that friendship (and at first, he also probably hoped the pair could sort things out and get back together).
Spamton's presence in TV World, and specifically in the pipis cutscene, protects the pipis by causing Tenna to take it with him, instead of leaving it for the party to pick up and potentially consume/destroy, but I realized another little detail.
In the Bonus Zone, before the pipis room, Tenna said "Because I've got something you guys will never have! Something big! Something very secret!" to some Pippinses, and then when finding the pipis lying on the floor, he said "how did this get out here!?". In Spamton's absence, he was using language that framed the pipis more as an object/thing.
But after Spamton showed up, he actually switched to using language that more obviously frames the pipis as a person. He started using she/her pronouns and directly speaking to her, asking if she's okay and reassuring her by saying "Don't worry! You're gonna go someplace safe!!!", and he even used affectionate terminology, calling her "my little darling".
Once Spamton was present, even if Tenna wasn't emotionally prepared to handle that reunion yet, he was able to embrace what the pipis actually is - their child - rather than distancing himself by presenting her as simply an object with sentimental value attached, and he was able to openly express affection and protectiveness towards her.
Thinking about what the pipis daughter could call Spamton and Tenna to make it clear who she's addressing, and the easiest option would probably be to call one of them "dad" and the other "papa". Another option I've had in mind is maybe her calling them "small dad" and "big dad". And thinking more about it, I've just imagined an older pipis daughter deciding to be funny and saying "fixed size dad" and "variable size dad".
Something sweet about Spamtenna is that, in theory, on a very surface level, you'd think two huge yappers would be natural enemies, because they'd see each other as competition for who can take up the most space in a conversation, especially if you also (incorrectly) believe that all they care about is fame. But actually, it's not that these two want to drown out everyone else; they're just naturally talkative guys who have a lot to say and may accidentally end up talking over others as a result, and in each other, they finally found someone who understands that experience (the experience being autism) and doesn't judge them.
I realized something interesting about Spamton and Tenna's contract as an allegory for marriage - specifically, as an allegory for legal marriage - given the nature of their relationship as something that higher powers have deemed forbidden.
There's a sort of reflexive contrarianism some people have about legalized gay marriage, as though it exists just so that queer people can follow hetero social norms, or like it's something that's purely symbolic and only exists for greater public acceptance. However, while it did help with shifting public opinion to be more favorable to queer relationships, the reason legal gay marriage, rather than symbolic weddings, is so important, is because there are certain legal rights you get by signing that paperwork, regardless of what the specifics of your relationship are (here's a lengthy post about it). I'll mention the most relevant stuff here.
By legally marrying someone, you're telling the government that this is a person you actively want as part of your family, and the fact that you chose them gives them priority over your biological relatives for things like inheritance.
In the absence of a legal marriage, if something bad happens to one of the partners and they end up hospitalized, the other partner doesn't have the legal right to visit them, let alone make any decisions on their behalf if they're unable to do it themself. A person's close biological relatives will be given the right to make decisions on their behalf in case of an emergency; if the person dies, their relatives will be prioritized for things like inheritance, as well as custody of the person's biological children.
The thing with biological relatives is that you didn't choose them, and you may not have a good relationship with them. In the context of queer people's relatives, there's the worry of them being queerphobic; for older queer couples, this would've been even more likely. There are plenty of stories in which one partner in a queer couple died, and then the dead partner's relatives took away the couple's child from the surviving partner forever, since that child was only biologically related to the dead partner. Even if the dead person wrote a will where they expressed the wish for their partner to be the child's legal guardian, that will is only a strong suggestion in the eyes of the law, and a judge can ignore it and rule in favor of the relatives anyway, or even give the child to someone unrelated, but simply not queer/deemed more "appropriate".
With Spamtenna on an allegorical level being prohibited from marrying each other, we actually see this exact kind of thing happen. In the absence of Spamton, the partner we know for sure to be biologically related to the pipis, and in the absence of a legal marriage, Tenna will lose his child - a judgemental society will push him away from her, which results in her fate being left in the hands of the player, who can take her away from him forever by consuming her. Separation from his partner results in separation from his child, too.

it kiiiiills me that spamton was ready to risk it all for tenna, that he trusted tenna that much and that deeply. his freedom and autonomy are more important to him than anything, and even if he lost his career and became entirely reliant on his partner, he trusted tenna to still respect him and not exploit him in any way. which is a massive thing for somebody like spamton, who has only ever been treated as a pest and never before gotten back what hes given into a relationship. wailing as i fall to the ground
Yeah, every time I realize something new about these two it's like, ough my heart...
Being dependent on someone like that is a very vulnerable position to be in. Spamton doesn't really have the choice not to depend on anyone if he wants to live a decent life, but the fact he actively chose Tenna as someone he was comfortable becoming dependent on and trusting with his fate... Someone so much bigger and more powerful... But Spamton felt so safe and free with him... And he was right to feel that way... These two spark joy.
Not only does completing Chapter 2's Weird Route and acquiring the Puppet Scarf that way mean that you can carry or even wear Spamton's corpse around Tenna in Chapter 3 (and onward), but the Puppet Scarf can also only be equipped by Ralsei, the party member that stands closest to Tenna on stage and sits closest to him during The Legend of Tenna sections. Spamton's corpse really is right there next to Tenna, and he has no idea.
If the player does the Weird Route, but saves Tenna and keeps him in Castle Town, I wonder if we'll get a cutscene where he finds out what the Puppet Scarf is and his heart gets irreparably shattered...
The Chapter 5 cutscene points to Spamtenna getting more attention and development and being given emotional weight, meaning there will likely be a resolution/ending, and it would make sense if there was a tragic option if one of them is gone.
