-- we both lose * ( avec impulsepilot )
The war ending had signified that a large amount of the damage done to Orb, the PLANTs, and certain parts of Europe needed to be fixed. A joint effort would work well, but given the PLANTs and EA’s current mindset, they wouldn’t accept help from one another. Only Orb and Scandinavia were willing to part with their own countries to assist others. It was a difficult situation, and Scandinavia chose to work with the Earth Forces, while Orb was left with the PLANTs.
She hadn’t taken very much time to get in the shuttle to the PLANTs. Instead, she’d neatly tucked her clothes into a suitcase and shoved it into the empty seat beside her shuttle, ignoring the sounds of people around her snoring from the long flight. The slow pace of the shuttle was to conserve energy, and the beauty of space was only added to by the even more waning sight of the moon staring down from space. Once Requiem had been taken apart, it had been left with pieces of Genesis. The terrors of the past war were finally at end. But for Cagalli, a new war had emerged. To find peace with people who despised her country, and her. It was difficult because she couldn’t have a personal connection to anyone at the moment. She had to focus on being the leader that could build bonds. But never the person who wanted bonds with herself.
A real representative of Orb. Like her father had been.
She been jolted awake when the shuttle doors opened, and a man ushered her to stand. She grabbed her suitcase and gave him the most calmed smile she could manage. Cagalli loved flights, but she hated going into space like this. It gave her headaches, and a bad mood. Stepping out of the shuttle, she glanced around for anyone familiar. Lacus-Kira. One of her friends? Instead, the many soldiers that waved at her, most dressed in green coats and red coats, made her stomach stricken. Of course, they’d send the military to evaluate how Orb soldiers behaved after the war. Even though they seemed kind and admirable, the glares were unnerving. She waved back with her free hand, never ceasing to amaze herself with the fake, kindness, she managed to keep. The facade she wore so well was so much like what she imagined Uzumi’s had been. What she was sure Athrun’s was like when he was around her during the last war. It was likely, now, that he was somewhere in Orb. Maybe he was phoning Kira. Maybe, he was waiting anxiously for a letter from that pig tailed girl he’d been so fond of.
With a small shake of her head, she walked towards the crowds, that immediately dispersed. Her temporary bodyguards, each dressed in the dark gray of bodyguarding outfits, walked behind her. Her eyes only barely managed to catch sight of a black haired individual waiting not far from her, with a car near him. She knew the boy’s name. But it still bothered her. Because he’d shot at her last time she’d even encountered him, and she knew she stood for everything he despised.
“Lady Cagalli. You’ll be riding the transport to the Supreme Council Embassy with Shinn Asuka,” a black-coated man said, indicating to Shinn again. With a heavy frown, Cagalli walked towards Shinn, and she made sure she held her head high. No more hiding. No more being afraid.
If he wanted to a war with Orb, he’d get one. Not a violent, physical war-but one that Cagalli was particularly well played at when she was in the mood- a verbal one. Stopping a foot or so away, she extended her hand out. Hazel eyes glinting with mischief, she waited for the red eyed boy to return the gesture. But she knew he wouldn’t. It didn’t bother her. But it was obvious she would need to find middle ground between both of them. This was her only chance to correct her father’s only mistake. Her only mistake. “I don’t think we ever met properly, I’m Cagalli- Chief Representative of the Orb union.”
Red. This was the most he could see, even at the passing distance the shuttle had opened up towards.
Yes, that detestable female had chosen to arrive here, behaving in a manner that seemed most welcoming. And it was natural that her supporters might lend a hand-the ones now higher up in the military. Shinn was enraged with the state of affairs in the PLANTs, but given that it wasn't his own land, he lacked the ability to speak up.
Foreign in his own affairs, and disabled in any sense of understanding, he kept his forlorn gaze on her, until she approached him and opened her big mouth. How dare she? Speak up when she knew that he despised her with every part of his being. The very folds of the earth would crackle before he chose to take her words with a diminishing smile. Instead, the corners of his mouth lowered into a snarl, each indication of complete and utter dismay managing to crackle the kindling welcome the blonde haired murderer recieved.
"You.. you think this just a game?!" he shouted out, speaking in words and furiousities that he had never once thought he would use since the war had been concluded. What conclusion? What ending. Instead, his sorrows had increased. "Forget it. Get in the car and shut up!" He didn't want to speak. He didn't want to hear. He was angry, and he was disappointed. And he had all of this unending rage towards Orb.
Towards this woman. Towards her father. To that traitor who left ZAFT and ran back to these murderers. No one would understand! But her words, her gaze, her apparel. It was bringing his mood down. And it was striking him, one by one. In the heart. In the chest.
He promised-- I promised I'd protect her! But no. No protection. Because Orb chose to interrupt and end the only person who brought him to life. Orb chose to ruin everything! She stood for Orb, for his corruption, for his downfall, and for his metaphorical death. Burning anger forced his hands to fist, and his eyes, a heavy red, glared at the 'official' standing before him. The keys in his hand forgotten, he instead tried to curb his anger, to no avail. This was punishment for having been how he was during the war. But this meant nothing. This was only a small morsel of the rage he felt against those people.
